Thank you for sharing your lovely pictures of Finland with us Liri - the scenery is stunning. I have never visited the country, my brother has lived there for nearly 45 years now and loves it (especially their short, hot summer), and my parents spent some time with him. Their taxes are high, and the winters are long but a summer holiday there would be wonderful.
A couple of pictures from our recent walk on the south cliffs - the little box/house is where one of the foghorns is situated.
Stunning photos Liri Love the lakes and trees, but my favourite is the wooden door ......and, of course, the Moomin There is a Moomin shop in Covent Garden ......think they have achieved cult status
Added Finland to my places to visit list. Once had a brilliant holiday camping in Norway - we loved it there too (apart from the prices)
Loved the photos Liri. Thanks for sharing. It's a beautiful place and looks very restful.
I'm a sucker for water be it river, lake or seas but the local rivers are teeny and coastal yacht basins are nowhere near as photogenic as Busy's river scene except maybe sunset with the low sun on all the masts.
Your sea looks like very calm GD. We have yet to see the Atlantic showing its might. Been calm every time we've visited since October when we arrived.
Hosta - that's a well-timed shot.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

The local attractions included wild flowers:
Lovely buildings in the nearby village:
Lakes and trees:
No night life, except arguing cuckoos and booming bitterns.
Idyllic indeed, Joyce.
We had one horribly wet day, when we visited the Lusto Forest Museum (how Finnish can you get? It's all about trees...)
Amazing wood carving.
Have you ever wondered how to crochet a chain saw??
We broke our journey to the airport with one night in the Youth Hostel at Porvoo, on the south coast. It's famous for its architecture.
Not a lot of gardens, but plenty to love.
Thanks for posting these lovely photos Liri. You must feel wonderful after such a trip.

Liri, thanks for the Finland pictures, really brought back memories - the lodge by the lake especially.
Why is Scandinavia so expensive?
