It's a bit of a shlepp back down the path to the river and along to the farm and the car, but the River Feshie is very nice...
..and the wildlife is a delight. Stonechat - a bird I haven't seen before. He was singing his head off and I took as many pix as I could as he was flitting around. Worth the three hundred mile journey alone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
That second pic would be a nice one for the family album, scroggin
Sgor Gaoith would be ideal for the dog if you ever fancied the north east/Cairngorms instead of Glencoe/ the west . Both of those hills are very straightforward and plenty of grass for Floss, so the paws would be fine.
My colleague is on holiday next week - they're staying in a friend's cottage in Kingussie, which they often do, and they're hoping to give Gaoith a go with the children. I've given her all the info, so I hope she manages it.

Gorgeous photos steephill. That jay looks like a right grumpy teenager
Could they be young blackbirds? Very similar though - not sure I'd really be able to tell the difference as we don't seem to get the young blackbirds coming in. Thrushes are thin on the ground, although we used to see lots round the corner when they congregrated on the big area of grass at the front of the house in August. Mistle thrushes only here.
I was thinking of you yesterday scroggin, because I reckoned the dog wouldn't have liked going up Stob Ban! On the way across to the other Munro, there was a couple with a dog coming the other way, and I wondered if it would cope with the scree/boulders as there's no way of reaching the summit without going over that. Those two hills I did last weekend and the one before would have been ideal, and plenty of grass each side of the paths if it was too rough for him. Coming home, I thought Beinn Dorain would be ideal for you - ten minutes down the road from Glencoe and no rough areas for his feet that you can't get round.
I posted this on the Forkers thread already, but I got a pic of a little meadow pipit yesterday, ready to feed it's youngsters. They dive off so quickly that it's always tricky to get a decent photo.
Haven't resized my pix from yesterday yet, but there are some great views, so I'll try and do it later.
One to be going on with - approaching Stob Ban with some of the western Ring of Steall Munros on the left

Never seen a stonechat before as far as I know, cute little thing. Great views of the corries too.
We have lots of youngsters in the garden at the moment - juvenile jay.
Young thrushes, I think.

No probs scroggin. If I can think of any more hills that might suit, I'll let you know.
I did have an excellent day, and it was good to finally get those two hills under my belt after several false starts!

These photos were taken from our bedroom window this morning. A few sunbathers enjoying the morning sun.
our garden is really a bush block.
