Set off the fire alarm twice if you're being taken against your own will! I wish anyone who tries to go near that place the very best of luck. For me I would rather remove my eyeballs with a spoon.

    A special spoon.

With jagged edges and liberal dosing of TCP.

We go twice a year: for Christmas gifts you can't get online (split up with our lists meet back by the car in half an hour. If you don't return in an hour the other one is allowed to get in and drive off without you. DO NOT re-enter the building once you have exited).

The other time is to get his lordship shirts for work. I don't know why a) he doesn't get them on line given his hatred of shopping b) I have to go with him

  • Definitely never going there. Someone else can have my share.

I've got one of those eyeball spoons Clari - in case someone suggests going to Cribbs Causeway which is the equivalent on this side of the country. Just sitting in the (hours long) traffic queue on the M5 is more than I can stand. Luckily these days I don't have many presents to get. Google is my friend.

Right, Chicky, you can have number 2 . Nut is having number 1. I have this rose as an accident. I was growing random roses from seed. Dove has one of the Rosa glaucas. I raised three seedlings labelled Rosa filipes.  I planted them in the Orchard next door to fill a gap caused by the big storm which bought down a lot of trees, and made a space. (with the owners permission)A few years on, I noticed that one of the seedlings, has a pink flush to the buds and backs of the petals. The flowers are larger than kiftsgate, it does not get mildew the same  and the flowers last longer. I took hardwood cuttings and planted a couple on the boundary, it now rambles over a hawthorn, as high as my house. The original runs up a cherry tree, even higher.  I have taken cuttings  last year which seem to have rooted.  The house next door is in a huge plot designated for housing by the council, over the owners dead body. He is  97 .  At that point I am going to sell mine as well, take the money and run.

Sounds lovely.  My Kiftsgate never got mildew though.   Where will you run?

  • Which direction are you running to Fidget?  It's very nice over here image  Weather's a bit warmer and much less wet than where you are.  Sky's bigger too image

Probably a bit more rural, possibly further South.  I have a grafted Kiftsgate which always gets mildew. Nowhere near as impressive as my seedling.
