I'm awake! HRH needed to go out so I've been reading back while laying in bed thinking about getting up. You all make me feel guilty - we've got a brilliant sunny morning, feels a bit too warm for my liking, but you're all talking about cold wet misery and still managing to get some walks in. Well done everyone.
Liri, I couldn't even contemplate walking 5 miles, let alone in the dark and wet to boot.
Phew! I've been outside pulling up sorrel and dandelions and generally cleaning up some of the veg beds, but when I opened the GH, it was 44c in there. No wonder everything was looking a bit limp. Trouble is it's still too cold to have the tomatoes and Tagetes out through the night because we're still getting low temps In the night.
All the grasses in the paddocks are sprouting high stems of seeds, and while it might please the parrots and galahs, it's a problem for fire danger. NSW up around Sydney and Newcastle are having bush fire probs we've got high winds too. Hubby is slashing with the tractor at the moment. We only had a total of 12 mm rain in October (the last was 1mm on 23 rd), so everything is drying off very quickly. So, it looks as though it's dragging hoses around time again.
Now that I'm trying the Fodmap regime, I'm not to eat my broccolini or kale or anything from the cabbage family, so it's back to Silver Beet - lucky it's coming back after its winter sleep.
Snow warnings here. To be honest I was expecting a heavy fall yesterday it got so heavy with cloud.
Still it'll make the school trips (90 children today) more exciting if it does snow! I've only had the one school cancel, one more turn up and leave shortly after.
Six weeks til Christmas? Oh dear. I'm not in the least bit organised!
Good morning all Still and overcast out there. No idea of the temperature but I can't see any sign of frost and we still have only the 4 tog summer duvet on.
I have plans to bubble wrap the little greenhouse and tuck the big begonia away in there for a while and pot up the Tete a Tetes that I bought yesterday. theres also a bit of paperwork to do and a fish pie to make.
Ive not done any Cmas shopping yet but it won't take long , we don't buy big presents. There will be some preserves for everyone and of course, there's birthdays too. Sons on 22 nd and OH on 19 Dec and we do try to make them a bit special.

No rain yet, and it's nearly dark (6.45pm). As usual, false predictions and clouds.
Good morning all
