Morning Yvie - I can't sleep either ....but in my case its coz that dratted alarm clock keeps going offimage

Stevie; I hope you feel better soon. There is a brilliant spray that numbs your throat available at chemists I find it makes such a difference. Otherwise all I can suggest is mulled cider!

Mulled = warming to sooth aches

Cider = apples = packed full of vitamins

Alcoholic = relaxes both muscles and mind

It really is a super cure all. ;)

Today is a day of hard grafting on the house; keep your fingers crossed it goes well!

Chicky, at least I don't have to worry about going to work anymore.  I can always catch up on sleep later.  Hope you day is a good un.

Oh Stevie if you don't have to work than definitely mulled cider. Helps promote a gentle sleep and everyone knows you feel better after a good snooze ;)

I've never found capsules work and I get ALOT of colds due to all the small snotty visitors at the museum. The only thing that makes a difference is lemsip but I'm sure that's more because of the warming element.

As for the house: by Christmas is something I dare not think about. I have a feeling by summer is a bit more realistic; we can only do the work as we save up the money so it's very start stop and unfortunately we seem to have very expensive tastes.

Joyce; only two more rooms that have plaster in so at least eventually we'll have run out! Hopefully this will be the last skip load.

    Enjoy your lunch out!

Good morning all image I'm awake and have my second coffee image

It is dry-ish and quite bright at the moment and seems warmer than it has been. We've turned the heating off again.

Hi all cold sufferers! Interesting mull cider recipe here: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2011/dec/21/how-to-make-mulled-cider

    Morning all.

Will probably do more gardening today. Have 2 bags of daffodils to plant but ground, apart from the top inch, is dry and hard. Rain forecast, hope it comes.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
