    Evening all,

Leeds is a good university city Chicky, my great nephew went there and had a great time and my best friends daughter lives in a village just outside.

Clari we have a piece of slate about 5ft x 2ft that we removed from a fireplace 3 houses ago.  It's been used for a variety of things over the years, mainly in the garden, at the moment we are using it as a base for the garden bench.

Had lots of cuddles this afternoon from grandson. Secondborn's partner did some negotiating with Sky for us and got us a massive discount which equates to about 50% off our TV, broadband and phone packageimage.  Verdun would have been proud of him.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

Hi everyone. Enjoyable reading about your doings. Hosta, I can't believe you've managed so much with that rock. Hope the effort is worth it in the long run.

Chicky, I can't think when I was last on a train. Probably a suburban one in Melbourne about 10 years ago. As a child growing up on the NSW south coast, we had to catch a bus to Nowra, then steam train to Sydney. I used to love watching the interesting things out the window. Didn't like going through tunnels especially when some idiot had not bothered to close their window and all the smoke filled the cabin.

Yvie, sounds as though the family visit was a hit. Good luck with the Sky deal. We have Foxtel and would be lost without it. We can't get free-to-air TV without the Foxtel dish. Well we dont have mobile phone coverage in this valley either, but you get used to THAT quite easily, image when we go to town, we find messages on our mobiles from people who don't believe that we can't get it at home. Dopey ones.

now Ive forgotten what else I've read. Good work with the weight loss. Been there, too. It's such a good feeling.

Morning all....or anyone who's here image  Afties Pat image

Know what you mean about the phone signals. My parents' house was in suburbia,  not in the sticks, but it was hopeless to get a signal in it, unless you went upstairs and parked on the  half landing at the window! If you went to the end of the road, you'd suddenly get a flurry of texts and missed calls!

I can see some of my jigsaws now - daughter wanted me to put a cake one on, so we did that. She wouldn't let me do it once we started. I think she might be a convert too image

Taking daughter to work and then off to Glen Etive. Funny how her father has suddenly decided he'll have the girls on a Friday night rather than Saturday....and how did I know that would happen....image

Glad you had a good trip chicky - although a bit 'on and off'    image

Progress being made Clari. Suddenly it'll all come together  image

Don't be fiddling with that rock before work Hosta. Don't want you looking like a Roadrunner cartoon....image

Looks to be a nice day here again. I can see a few stars so it must be clear. Too dark to see just now.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you get up to.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Morning all.

    Enjoy your walk Fairy.

Dry and bright by the looks of it outside. Good day for delivering.

Hubby doing me a bacon butty to see me on my way.

Info required. The hogs seem to have abruptly disappeared. From 3 visits a night down to one, sometimes none. Surely it's too early for hibernation? We've not gone below 6C here yet.

    Devon.

Hi Fairy and Hosta. It's suddenly gone dark here and the temp dropped. Rain or storm approaching I think

Good morning all image G'day Pat image

Sitting in bed waiting for second coffee and wondering whether the weather will be fair enough to make a visit to Bressingham worthwhile ... Free entry with RHS card and I want to look at the grasses in Foggy Bottom. OH will like the grasses too, and well both enjoy the Gallopers and icecream image

Hosta, hibernation won't start until leaf fall so they can build their nests, but maybe your hoggie brood have reached the age where they're making their own way in the world. Maybe a couple of other feeding stations around the place? Maybe down by the big oak? Hedgehog adults are remarkably unsociable creatures and will see each other off if they meet up outside the mating season.

Have a good day and go you steady with that rock ((hugs))

    imageMorning all.

We like the Gallopers too, Dove. Enjoy Bressingham.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

So much for the sky turning dark. Now we've got setting sun hitting the hills opposite.image

Fairy, have you or your daughter tried the "rotation" option on the jigsaws? image

    Beautiful picture Busy!!

His lordship (only makes tea in bed on a Sunday) proudly informed me that he put the heating on this morning to help dry the clothes. How happy was I?

Came downstairs after a leisurely shower to find...

... the clothes were still in the washing machine. How warm does the central heating get?? image

Reggie and I are off on a "play date" later. We're part of a group on Facebook dedicated to arranging walks for German Shepherds (and their owners of course). Last time he slept all afternoon so hopefully I'll get chance to get some jobs done later on. We've almost choose not a carpet for the bedroom; even though we're a long way off needing one.
