    Oh Pat :(

Ever had one of those days where no matter what you do nothing actually seems to be happening? I think I've stared at my laptop all morning.

Mind you: I have the first five hours of 9/11 playing in the room next door which is not exactly inspirational. Fortunately the exhibition closes on the 30th October so I shall have to hope for something a little more soothing next.

Poor Reggie was most confused this morning as I took him on his morning walk. Normally this is reserved for his lordship but he seems to be struggling to wake up with these darker nights. I have a feeling that this wont be the only time. Still at the moment there is more that he can do on the house than I can (nothing left for me to destroy) so I can't have him wearing himself out walking the dog when he should be doing the electrics.

image  Just registered an online complaint on the Ofcom website about yet another 'silent' phone call.  When I googled the number it turns out to be a Birmingham area code and many other people have had those scam car accident phone calls.  Apparently Ofcom can investigate if they get enough complaints ... so I've complained image

    Hi everyone,

Hosta, if that had been me there would have been a few choice words said.  I'm not good when my sleep is curtailed for no good reason.

Pat, I'm glad we don't get many visitors, sounds too much like hard work.

Had a busy morning, all bulbs are now planted.  Most of the tender salvias and agapanthus are now tucked up in the greenhouse.  Still a fair bit to do but a good start.  Had to fetch a bag of grit for top dressing the pots and it was heavier than I thought so aching a bit now.

Don't think I'll be doing much for the rest of today, need to save myself for tomorrow when I have Jonah to look after.  Secondborn is going to be pampered as she is off to Rome for a few days next week (a birthday treat from her partner).  Don't tell anyone, but he's going to ask her to marry him while they are away.  He popped over to ask our permission last week (he's a bit of a traditionalist at heart).  I've now got to keep my mouth shut for a few more days, it's killing me.

    'See' you all later.

Stay strong Yvie.  Lovely news.   I have just git in form a very brisk walk with the dogs - thighs tingling as the blood whizzes round.  Pity it doesn't take WD40 to my creaking hips and knees.

Before that, SM for a good browse without OH in tow;   Found some 25cl plastic goblets for sweet peas and broad beans and some pigs' cheeks to cook long and slow.  Been looking for some since I saw them cooked on Saturday Kitchen months and months ago.

On the way home I popped in to a Gamm'Vert to see what they had - nothing green apart from some neglected looking plugs of lettuce and broccoli  and no pots of any description.

Hope your OH gets on with the leccy Clari.

Has anyone else been invaded by Ladybirds? The back wall of the house was covered in them. I knocked them off with a paintbrush and relocated them to the bug house. All sorts, especially noticeable were very big black ones with two red spots.  Lots of usual red with many black spots.

    Evening all.

Plus side of my wasted trip this morning, was popping into Home Bargains. Some nice allium and tulip bulbs for 99p a bag and 3 pairs of reading glasses, £1.49 each ( How do opticians get away with charging hundreds? )

Body clock all over the place but a productive day in the garden.

Great news Yvie. Mum's the word.

Bake off final tonight. Mucho Excitemundo.

    Devon.
