  • Hi to all :D I'm a newby in this forum ^_^ and gardening.
No gardening done today mainly due to the weather forecast going to be frosty untill next Tuesday and possible snow brought by the "beast from the east" lol. I did however buy a plum Victoria tree today - which wasn't planned at all, and some roses too.

Welcome!  I am also a newby (joined last Sunday).   :)

Yes, too wet today!  The only thing I did in my back garden is to walk across it to the shed to retrieve some oil for my oilstone!  (Oh, I did come across 2 snails copulating and 'placed' them outside my garden area).

With bright sun this morning I was just about to pop out this afternoon and progress a few things and it was torrential!

more rain tomorrow so I think I will be just cutting out some turf and preparing some new beds...and going shopping at the garden centre ;)

Still struggling with two trapped nerves in my back, on top of other rheumatic issues there, so no gardening for about 2 weeks now. Very frustrating but just about managed to sow some cornflowers today.

At least you are still able to occasionally tend to your garden Mark so take some small comfort from that.

My late mother was a keen gardener but she developed dementia and could no longer garden.  When I lived with her, as her full time carer, I could never understand why she didn't want to spend time just relaxing in the garden.  She eventually disclosed that it made her sad to see all the things she could no longer do.....

Like most people apparently it's rained here most of the day but I did call into Screwfix this morning to buy a huge 9 litre can of Ronseal fence protection paint in Forest Green at a very good price I thought. I now just need a dry spell to paint my new strawberry planter, the shed and the asparagus bed frame (aka old packing case).

Spent a happy few hours in the GH potting up 300 plug plants. Went to a meeting this afternoon for people opening their gardens for charity. Opening mine on 17th June.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Got about four and a half hours in before the rain got to heavy and I got too hungry.

All that time and all I achieved really was tidying up, mulched the important plants and a fuller leaf moulder.
