Been out and weeded the front garden. Manged to not disturb the Hostas for the for the first time in a few years. Bought more Pulmonaria to finish off the ground cover.
We had snow and gale winds start of the week, which has left a few stunned plants around the garden.
Sorry to hi jack this post but as it was the last thread that it looks like Michael commented on. I'm sorry to have say that Michael lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday the 26th April. Prior to passing away he asked me to let you guys and girls know on this site.
Thanks for letting him be a part of this group he enjoyed his time on here and he loved his garden.
Thanks for letting us know the sad news Ellen, I did wonder why he had stopped visiting. Michael's boundless enthusiasm for gardening was always evident in his posts. He will be sadly missed.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
It made me smile to read about his gardening - he seemed to love just being in the garden, seeing the birds etc, as much as growing plants and veg. We understand that passion on this forum.
Take care Ellen, I hope you have many lovely memories that can give you a little comfort at this difficult time.
Really sorry to hear the sad news about Michael. Thank you for letting us know Ellen. I really enjoyed reading what Michael had been up to on his allotment.

I potted on 12 tomato plants today. Some were a tad large so I sank them well in the bucket and added plenty of compost and a cane.

Very sad news Ellen. Used to marvel at the amount of work Michael did on his allotment and he was so pleased to get his polytunnel.
That is sad news Ellen. We are sure he derived many hours of pleasure from his garden, he certainly will be missed on here.
