deadheading, weeding, removing brambles, (coming over from next door) removed bottom leaves from tomatoes, tidied veg plot, no rain although it was forcast.

  • Is your azalea in a pot Doghouse?  I was given two down and almost out pink azalea's earlier in the year.  They were in a dreadful condition - flowers had died, leaves were dropping - I put them in two large pots and I have managed to revive them with water and feeding and they now are producing new leaf shoots at and alarming rate.  I am hoping they will flower next Spring in their pots, and then they will be put them into flower beds.

I have replanted some old daffodil bulbs around the base of the big willow tree that were replanted last week but the cat dug them up again.  Blurr. We have dead headed, watered and also repotted daff and grape hyacinths bulbs,

We picked some more cooking apples for lovely people who have returned to the island for their holiday - having stayed in our holiday cottage (now our home) 10 years ago. That was nice.

My rhodos and azaleas are in pots, have asked them if they are happy, they have confirmed they are! They were brought from our last garden in pots, because of the amount of tree roots here, it is impossible to plant them, plus the soil, apart from where we have removed it is heavy claggy clay.Unless you have a very acid soil, its the only way to go, as long as you make sure to feed and water them.  Will see if I can get my daughter to put some pics on here at the weekend when she is up.

Johnny, I remember you having lots of pots and hanging baskets so you have plenty of work keeping them watered.

  • Hello Joyce, yes but not today. We had a hail storm last night, just checked outside and there is no damage to plants but everything is nice and wet.
