Light deadheading and gardening of the mind. ie I thought about it and did nowt.
Must have been horizontal rain last night. One side of garden was soaked and the other half was dryasabone. Instructed the undergardener to do some watering. After a false start, he did the dry side.
Cleared some of the tomatoes, got a lot of lavender seedlings growing in the crevices of the pavement, so dug those up and put them in pots with compost and a lot of grit.
been down this morn got 7 plants empty/tom plans out of g/h took some of my apples home went back to empty water tank changing water run off need a empty 40 gal water tank for extra spuds just run water out of the bath to run through woodwork into g/house got allsorts to try when g/h is empty
Had fun today, stayed at home and played in the garden instead of going to work
Moved a few bits and bobs, started off small with a chive which got me in the mood for attacking the day lily clumps.
Started weeding around the bog border as it's gone a bit nuts. Collected my windfall pears, but should probably bring them in before any harm befalls them
Havent done much today (unfortunately did have to go to work) but have collected a few cooking apples for the 'Cake-off' week we are having in work to raise money for Macmillan Cancer. I will probably do an apple and blackcurrant cake plus some carrot cup cakes and I have had a request for apple turnovers too!
hi all went down this morn take out the last spuds dug a row and half while I had a rest looking at my water bath and water tanks LIGHT BULB MOMENT as the bath was empty took hosepipe that over flows into water tank drilled a hole for plastic pipe and fittings washers and put some stickum glue to fittings drilled hole in wooden frame of g/house put pipe through put tap on all we want now is rain for bath ( right pleased )got a new tank for the extra spuds that I will have )) AND STILL NEVER FINNISHED SPUDS)))

Wow, RB, just seen your post - what a shame about the toms
Looks like you had hundreds of them...

Best week of the year for quality lunch breaks
I feel your pain Linda Fairweather along with the brambles that attack me from OUR next door neighbours garden!!!

Been tieing up garlic for over wintering in garage , still got more to bring from allotment storage shed
Already dug my spuds up , in paper sacks in garage
Nice idea for water retention
