did some gardening yesterday. Moved 2 x wiegela, 1 choysa, 3 x dianthus, 3 x stachy and 3 erysimum bowels mauve, 1 hydrangea and my ceanothus

They all needed to be put in better places which catch more sun!

The most naughty thing was that I cut away a large patch from my small lawn!!.. I think the plants will be more happy though!...

  • I brought my dried geraniums, begonia tubers and glad corms down to the basement. Emptied all the flower pots in the front and side of my house. One ladder of petunias to dump, they were in a spot that protected them from the killing frost last night, so I let them live another day. I dug up two flower beds and a little veggie plot.

It's not even 4am yet, woke up and couldn't go back to sleep, so I'm here and drinking coffee. It will start snowing today but I hope to finish in the back yard. Two flower beds of geraniums to pull chop and dig back into the ground and then I have three customers that I need to get their yards ready for winter. It will warm up some next week so no rush.

I do have to pot some geranium and begonia cuttings that have rooted in water. I'm testing petunia and begonia seeds that I collected last month. I always worry that seeds won't germinate. Well they have been on the heat mat for three days, ONLY three days, so I need to chill out about it.lol

Watered my pots, put the summer furniture away in the garage (sob!) got the cushions in bags ready for the loft. Put the citrus trees to bed in one greenhouse, bananas cannas, agave, agapanthus in another, the other one is for the brugmansias, and is the only one heated.

I looked at the garden on the way out to work, and again when I came home. Does that count as gardening? image

I filled the bird bath up and deadheaded a few sweet peas and dianthus a little while ago. That was it. A strange day here weatherwise. Only warmed up by a couple of degrees. Just scraped double figures at the back of eight, and only 12 when I got in at two-ish.

Well - it is October, and it isn't raining or blowing a gale, so that's a result!

I need a rhodie out Verd - can you make it by about ten tomorrow? image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Walked round deciding    (1) what was to be moved and (2) where the new plants were going to be planted.
