Lamweedy , toms looking good , better than mine image

  • That's a brilliant idea Iamweedy - - they look better than mine too.  We bought 3 of those B&Q buckets earlier this year and they are still in good condition.

The plants are Gardeners Delight. I buy them from a  nursery man who sells stuff at the local market. I have never had a bad batch of plants from him. The tomato plants are always really sturdy and healthy looking, far better than most garden centres.

Yesterday was a busy day. A few little jobs done but the main area tackled was this...

Potatoes, onions and garlic harvested. Slime powerwashed from bricks. Salad leaves and radish seeds planted.

Yesterday afternoon turned out nice , so lots of dead heading and moved pots to make it easier for next door to do watering while away

Had first tomatoes from g/h with dinner image

  • We have been having cherry tomatoes for the past 2 weeks from the g/h, perfect and one or two from the garden, but still plenty left.  Just picked the last of approx. 10 cucumbers over the past 3 or 4 weeks and the gherkins are still producing too.

A good day in the garden.  We are making a new loganberry bed against the north facing wall and may include some blackberries in the planting too.  We will try to find bare root plants in a couple of months time - they have to be especially imported.

I gave 2 small silk tree plants which I had grown from seed to a friend along with an envelope full of quaking grass seeds this morning.
