Not much gardening for me this week. Been dealing with two crashed computers after my latest Comodo Firewall update.  My husband knows nothing about PC's so it's left to me when things go awry.  I finally got both machines working properly, but no thanks to any help offered on their help forums. It wasn't just me, either.  Hundreds of people had computer issues after this last update.

I did get out this afternoon for about an hour for a round of weeding for "relaxation" after all the computer stress for 6 days.  ;)

  • The calendar was right - it was a good Friday ?

Went up t' lotment this AM, spent about three hours there but returned home for elevenses and to do some garden chores.

Weeded some of the bindweedy bits and rosebay willowherb. I let a few areas go a bit wild last year, will try and maintain control for as long as poss.

Moved some snowdrops before they disappear, found a space for a new hellebore, should one be required, filled the brown bin, fed the potted bulbs (which was nice of me), pulled some roots out the pond since it was at low tide and did some climbing plant admin.

Did a little watering this morning then sorted the conservatory ready for a full day of catching up with seed sowing, pricking out and potting on tomorrow.

This afternoon spent at Mum's as her (paid) gardener was coming, (as opposed to the unpaid gardener    i.e. me!). We had a discussion about whether or not her large potted camelia would be better off in the ground and whether it would rain soon as he has 5 lawns that need feeding!

  • Had a full day outside today - started off with coat on, took that off, then took second layer off - don't worry I still had a t shirt on! The weather or I just got warmer and warmer. I started to plant around the new pond - OH carried on digging the bog garden and also pressure washed the outside walls and patio slabs - looks a whole lot better.  Our daughter's partner was a tremendous help in moving huge stones and emptying wheelbarrows. A good day all round.

Hope your team was a winner today GWRS

A busy day for me too.  Weeded and top-dressed a dozen large pots of blueberries with ericaceous compost, pricked-out/potted-on about 5 dozen seedlings, did more veg plot preparation and a fair bit of watering.  Doesn't sound much now I've written it but I'm shattered again! image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Done more today, sown loads to the point you can't actually see the windowsills in the conservatory, good luck to me when it comes to potting on! So much fun though!

  • Did some daffodil planning today, need to move some, had a walk round to see what's up and what's not, mowed the lawn and patched up a few holes.

Sowed some sweet peas outside. They were for my allotment but what with one thing and another, I've only just got around to it.

Dug up a campanula as I thought some hedge woundwort had got through the roots, it hadn't and the poor thing has now wilted in the sun. Why didn't I just rip up a piece of woundwort and carry it to the plant to compare? Idiot.image

Don't know if aym still checks in on us - if so thank you so much for the alstroemeria seeds - I followed your advice of chilling them on tissue for two months and all but 1 seed germinated. I've just potted up the second lot as wanted to see if the first did ok once potted up which they are as now showing green.?

Would it ruin everyone's Easter if it rained? Garden is very dry...
