Edged the upper middle bed with the D tool. Weeded and unwound and pulled up lots of bindweed. Took ages. Bindweed seems to like the heavy rain we've had. Garden Open next Sunday. Will I ever be ready? The rain has battered it all.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Tied in more C montana shoots and strung up wire and sticks to help the plant cover the gaps .
Moved a few self seeded geranium Rosanne plants to the big bottom border as they were taking over in a smaller bed. I need to find a good place for my two more Heucheras.
Oh, I am, am soooo glad I am not the only person who likes the montana, did you want "Beechgrove" at all yesterday, have made notes of the interesting ones, long flower, I have the perfect place for your Hecharas, MY garden, have just bought some and some tender perens from Sarah Raven, some in pots, the rest in a bed, just did a bit of deadheading today, thinning the apples, just making crumbles from the blackcurrants I picked. The ****** birds have had my blueberries! Its war now!!
Quite a bit of weeding this morning when I got up around the veg plots in the gravel them my blooming Border Collie ate a cat ***, which was next to my chrysanths and some slug pellets, panic called the vet, went thru check list, she hadnt had many, waited the required 3 hours no side effects whew, she cant access the veg plot normally, there is a fence and gate thankfully! So very late run on the beach.
Just had a pootle in the garden. My other half is helping me out at the moment and he watered everything last night - less than 20 minutes later the sky turned black and we had the most almighty thunder and lightening storm. As a result everything is looking lovely and lush this morning.
I've found a couple of tomatoes with blossom end rot in the greenhouse. Hope it doesn't spread.
Really pleased with my beetroot this year and also kale. First time of growing kale and it's so easy.
We are desperate for rain - again. When it comes it is heavy but we haven't had anything substantial for at least 2 weeks now. Consequently we spent a couple of hours watering this evening. Earlier we put the pond plant baskets back in the pond and topped up the water level with fresh well water - fingers crossed this time water is o.k.

The blackbirds have had my blueberries too, Nanny Beach, even though I netted them
