Seeds that have been found in archaeological digs from 1000's of years ago have been successfully germinated.

However some seeds will only germinate if fresh.

Glad to hear it's looking lovely down there Verdun, I'm coming down for a visit Easter so can you make sure we have some lovely weather please.

Been out planting hellebores and Rhododendrons this morning.  Thinking of going back out to tiday up the front garden in a minute.

    Enjoy your day everyone.

My Rhodos are going in half barrels Verdun.  I have one growing in the garden and it does really well but  I had the barrels and wanted something that flowered around May to add some colour.  As they are also evergreen they fitted the bill.

Been back out there and tidied up the front garden.  Removed 3 black bags of grape hyacinths.  I know they are due to flower soon but they had got out of hand and were smothering some of the plants coming through.  Looks much beter now.
