Got my propargater out and into the concervatory. Going to put compost into large freezer bags to warm up for potting on some fuchsia cuttings.

    This one I had first.

This is a heat tray, then I got a cover just in case I needed another propergater.

  • Logan you are about three steps ahead of me - my propagators are still in the loft - when I venture in there to put the Christmas decorations then I will hunt for them at the same time.

Hoed my "wild" area, ready for raking and covering with plastic sheeting so as to heat up the soil/suppress weeds for end of March seed sowing (if I can wait that long)!

Mr, stonemason came to put a final coat on the rough stone in the pond before the liner can be inserted in a few weeks time.

Shame GWRS, it happened to my mum before with paraffin heaters, I dont know what it does it though. I wont use paraffin heaters because what happen to mum before. I hope any plants are ok, I stick the hose in.

Mine did that once when I used to use paraffin heaters. I cut down the wick and it was better. So much easier now that OH has installed electricity.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Did some work in the garden today for the first time in a while as I've been concentrating on my allotment.

Replanted a southfacing border behind the bog garden with some recent purchases that have been stood around. Lots of nice plants gone in the ground today as also planted up a dryish bed under a cotoneaster. It's supposed to be a moth zone but has evolved into 'allsorts' image

Attempted to lollipop a weeping crab and another cotoneaster. Don't really know what I'm doing but I think the plant will probably grow and guide meimage

Some bulbs and stuff starting to appear - looking good for spring - whoop!?

  • Sounds like you have been busy today V.S. I would love to see your bog garden as we will be planting a new one soon, and I haven't too many ideas of what to plant there.

We did a lot of procrastinating today, looking at the hole dug as a pond and wondering which way to go next - it gets more complicated by the week, and we still haven't put a drop of water in it yet.

Guernsey, perhaps when it is finished perhaps you could put a picture on the site , best of luck with it

Cleaned greenhouse of soot , wish I had taken a picture , could not believe how much soot one little heater could produce

Had to bin bubble rap and geraniums & cape gooseberrys image

Will give the surviving plants another clean next week

Hope alls well with everybody image

  • Just read back to GWRS's soot problems. Hope you got it sorted...

Bought some damaged bags of stones the other day and this morning tipped them out into a path I made a while ago. It's just an access path for me to get through the bog garden and behind the pond, not for any real traffic.

Just need one or two more bags to top it off I reckon.

Made an indoor seed sowing chart. It's not as much as I thought but I'm going to try direct sowing sweet peas and cosmos which I haven't done before, and that's lightened the list considerably.image Did a bit of planning and found I had plenty of space for some new plants I want and only have to dispose of one thing.
