    I too have bought Gardeners delight but have yellow plum like tomatoes. Can anyone tell me why there seems to be about 50% of them look as if something has taken a bite out of them please? xx
  • This variety mix-up problem, going back to 2016 still persists.  This year's tomatoes (seeds purchased from a garden centre prior to the Covid-19 lock-down, (circa February 2020), are still not Gardeners Delight, Each year since 2016, I have made sure that I choose a different producer's seed packet, but all seeds seem to originate from the same rogue seed harvesting source which must have permanently lost the original strain of the true Gardeners Delight and blissfully remain unaware of their error.  Can anyone please help me to source REAL Gardeners Delight in advance of the 2021 growing season.

    Its not been gardeners deight seeds that are different this year, but Alicante that have potato leaves not tomato ones. They came from GC by Johnsons? I think. So its not just one variety of tom that has changed. Mind you I can't complain,  they are producing huge salad toms this year.

    Our Sungold and Gardeners Delight seeds both produced the requisite fruits! From Sarah Raven earlier this year.

    All mine are as described. GD, Rosella, Sungold and Yellow Pear. I think they were all from Just Seeds although only the Sungold was a new packet this year.

    A possibility I've seen is this one, called Yellow Delight. Supplied by Kings Seeds. The picture on the front of the packet looks similar to what people have described on this thread. Doesn't look like Kings are selling them now, so maybe it was a trial variety of some sort. They're not labelled as F1, so anybody with saved seeds should be able to keep them going.

    @DianeColes
    Your mystery probably solved.

    I've given Diane Coles the link to this thread @GardenGrower11 - her name isn't tagged properly so she won't have seen it  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    I tried to tag Diane correctly, but it didn't work, probably because of the space in her name, or maybe it's a new account or some other bug with the forum. After I typed @Diane in the post, her name didn't appear in any of the suggested people. It didn't work properly when you tried to tag her on the other thread. Either way, hopefully she'll find it now.
