The earthquake news is certainly very sad - shocking for all the people and animals involved losing each other and their homes and security and, in some cases, livelihoods. Let's hope they get help to re-build their lives.
It is scorchio here. Got home form patchwork at 6pm - shade thermometer says 34C which is hotter than yesterday but it isn't humid so I can cope. However, tomorrow and Saturday we are on attic sorting ready for one loan removal man who is prepared to come and do an estimate on site. That won't be so comfy but needs must.
Banks now expect people to do all their banking online and remotely so seem surprised when you actually want some good old fashioned customer service.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hello all , yes very tragic the earthquake in Italy
Large cash transactions , my Brother in law was changing his car , he took cash for the difference and the garage would not take it , he had to go back to the Bank and pay it in and go back to garage with his debit card !
Yes money laundering / tax evasion , a Big brother is watching !
We are about to lose our local post office. Its now going to be in a bargain booze, in the next town(and county) about 2 miles away. Well That will be handy, NOT.
FiL move went well from an organisational PoV, but think it will take longer for him to adjust to the change on an emotional and mental front. He loves to worry, and has a whole new list of potentials. But the flat is a new build, and apparently is lovely, and problems will be dealt with by the building manager.....so hopefully that will help him settle. My Dad is ok now, thanks Joyce - still hobbling, because although his broken foot mended, the relative inactivity has given him swollen legs that the docs are now trying to get control of ....but in good spirits nonetheless.
Littlest chicklet is heading off this morning with her rucksack, tent and wellies for a weekend at Reading festival ......cue worrying mother.....I'm sure she will have a wonderful time
Have a great day, whatever youse are up to .....and welcome to Blighty Lizzie

Just back from the dentist having new crown fitted. Even without my glasses I could see it's too short,by about 5mm.
I now have to go through the whole thing again.
Re the 'burning money' Hosta - that made me laugh!
I remember withdrawing several thousand at my branch and was asked what it was for. The girl was nice though so I wasn't rude...
..it was for the builders - not for a night out...
How could they make such a mistake with your crown - that's a huge margin!
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

GWRS, Hubby was only allowed to spend £1,000 in cash when he bought his last car, and no more than £1,000 on any given credit card.
He once bought a brand new Volvo estate in cash. Nobody batted an eyelid back then.

I also make a point of not using self service tills. It's putting people out of a job. It's no cheaper. It's more hassle.
Morning
