My soaker hoses need to go on too. Polka raspberries need fattening up now, the bees have been busy.

New bed arrived yesterday. We had a phone call at 7.30 to say we would be first drop. Cue mad scramble to strip old bed, and get it outside for today's bulk waste pick up.  Then I vacuumed and wiped down skirting boards. Furniture van pulled up. They bought the base in first. They are just connecting the two halves when I notice there are only two drawers and there should be four. No-one at the warehouse would answer the phone, so a decision was made that they would leave the wrong base, and get the right one sent later. When they started to connect the headboard, they realised that the base was only 4ft 6 and the mattress is 5ft. Still no answer from the warehouse so they took away the wrong base and left me with a mattress on the floor and a headboard propped against the wall. An hour later, a phone call to say that the correct base is still at the warehouse. An hour later, dumb and dumber the warehouse men turn up in a hire van. They bring in the base. Start connecting it. It has four drawers this time. Shouldn't the square ends join in the middle and the rounded corners on the outside? Unjoin the two halves and reverse the bits. finally approaching 1pm I have a completed bed.   Just got to tidy up now. I did get some huge strong plastic bags that should be good for sheeting over the next fym delivery from the farm up the road. The castors on the old bed look good for making some pot moving boards.

The grass verge outside looks like fly tippers have been at work.image I added two old armchairs and a carpet to the pile.

It looks like it will be hot today. I have piles of clothes to sort for new drawers.

    Morning all/afties Pat.

Lovely day again here - not to last till the weekend...boo hiss...image

Sorry to hear your news too Dewdrops. Hope today is a little better for you.

Did a little bit outside after work yesterday, but the 'lympics keeps getting in the way! Slightly sad to see Sir Chris's record being equaled, but it's truly wonderful. Do you think those two (cyclists) will need to buy some very large trophy cabinets? image

The entire British team are surpassing themselves. More sailing golds, every British cyclist gaining a medal. The young girl in the gymnastics was marvellous and the diving was a terrific result. What a superb bunch they all are  image

Picked lots of sweet peas, but they're really flourishing and looking pretty now. Time to get some stuff shifted into the new bed and get the timber to finish the edging off. Slowly getting there. This time next year, Rodney ....image

Have a grand day everyone. Off to t'salt mines...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Hi all, Have just had a quick read back but can't remember everything.

Sorry to hear your sad news Dew.

Well done Steve, wish I could get motivated to take more exercise, maybe I'll try harder when I return from Holibobs.

Have finally finished 'The Quilt' so now I am back to the land of the living.  I might even manage to get out in the garden at some point.  Firstborn is back from her holiday so I'm having Merri and Mabel for a couple of days so she can get some time in the Library to finish her Masters as it has to be in by early September.

Here are a couple of photos of the offending item that has kept me tied to the sewing maching for a few days.

    Hi all.

Weary this morning, but it was worth it, I think Laura should ditch Jason, and then......?

Lawns to be mown, then a marathon watering session, at least I can spray myself if it gets too hot.

    Another cup of coffee first.

    Have a good day.
