I had a long list to get through today, didn't manage to do any of it.
Did chop down a willow tree in the pond though. Actually not much of a pond at the moment, full of bulrushes and reeds, and the entrance from the stream is blocked. A lot of work needed.
Steak for tea, so need to find a nice bottle of red, shall then settle down and watch the Olympics.
Not as enthused as usual, must be the doping scandals, that are putting me off.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I felt a bit like that about the 'lympics too doc, but I think I will get more enthused as time goes on. The young lad on course for gold in the swimming is making me feel more optimistic.
In the 'olden days' we could put pix on photobucket and then stick 'em on here...
T'bird - tea and a bun sounds good
Think your OH is very game doing J O' Groats to Land's End though
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just had to put the seep hose on the Shady Bank - even the Jap Anemones are floppy
Hosta, I'm having the same problem with posting from the laptop - it was ok but isn't now - I can only post from my mobile phone, and sometimes even then it won't work. Nora has said they realise there's a glitch with the system and it will be sorted out ...
Pork chops, crispy roasted crushed new potatoes (if you know what I mean), baked pattypans and some apple and sage chutney for supper ... I think that's crying out for a couple of bottles of really good cider to go with it, don't you?
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I had an awful night, just couldn't sleep, my mind wouldn't cease going over things. Subsequently not done an awful lot today. I did the food shop with my husband, ate chocolate ice cream as a reward for tidying the kitchen, and did about four hours in the garden- just weeding, deadheading, potting things up and moving a few things (I know, not a good time of year to do it, but they need moving so the base can be put down for the summerhouse). Also ended up doing a lot of watering as a result of moving/planting items.
Husband did make me giggle earlier today. The compost bin was in part of the garden where we are preparing a base for the summerhouse, so it needed emptying before it could be moved. I was doing some weeding and he called me over 'Come quick, there's living things in the compost!'. I'm not entirely sure what he was expecting at the bottom of the compost heap, but it did make me smile!
That looks pretty dramatic Fairy! I've just checked our garden thermometer which is in a sheltered shady spot - it says it reached 30.6 today! No wonder all the plants are flagging.
