    Good morning all, hi Patimage

The Olympics are ruining my sleep pattern but it's been worth staying up late to see the magnificent performances the team is putting inimage.  How are you managing to stay awake at that time Joyce?

Hope the walk goes well Fairy and that you rib's not too painful.  My Dad broke his once leaning over the arm of a chair to pick up a pencil.

Pat I think you'd better find a new way of carrying your wood inimage.

Loved the moon pic Fairy and Clari's beautiful view.  I must have only posted in my head yesterdayimage

Hmmm - just seen NDN's cat pouncing on a frog on our Shady Bank  - fortunately the frog was quicker than the cat and leapt across the bank into the pond ... phew!   We like cats, but sometimes ... image

Think Wonky and her Lovely Hub will find their area a bit lively today - Norwich City FC (the Canaries) are playing Ipswich Town FC (the Tractor Boys) at Ipswich - the football ground is just a few streets away from Wonky's home.  It's a local derby which in the past has given rise to a few problems, but more recently things have been fine ... hope all is good humoured today image  Come on The Tractor Boys!!! image  (I know I live here in Norfolk now, but I lived in Suffolk for nearly 40 years and have been an Ipswich fan since my teens following first Sir Alf Ramsey and then Sir Bobby Roibson - I worked overlooking the stadium, used to bump into the players on a Saturday night out in Ipswich, and used to watch from the North Stand at Portman Road in the days when you stood on the terraces!!! image

    Morningimage

Calm before the storm here tooimage

Littlest Chicklet is back to fighting form again so we all went out last night for a celebratory pizzaimage Got home in time for the hockey penalty shoot out ......not at all like a football one was itimage.  Also remember Nick Skelton from the seventies ....he was a bit of a hearthrobimage (that expression on its own dates meimageimage)

Off to the opticians in a sec, then a quick trip into town for bits and pieces, then sewing some blackout lining into our curtains so that Mr C doesn't get woken by the dawnimage .....I quite like the dawnimage

Gardening will have to wait til tomorrow

I have a full length window next to my bed which lets in the dawn from the wee, small hours in summer so I hung a very thick, thermal lined velvet curtain and that did the trick.  However it has now been recycled with its mates for Possum's apartment - curtains and sofa covers and cushion covers - and I now have the original toile de Jouy which is very pretty but lets in loads of light..........

It's cool and grey and blowy and intermittently damp today so I'm carrying on with my sewing but hoping to get some dead heading done later.  The roses have been magnificent after a slow start and need some encouragement to continue.

Need another coffee before anything else though.

    Hi all.

Serious storm yesterday evening, the garden looks like it has been hit by a tornado, which is sad, it was full of colour, most of which is on the floor now.

Still raining, so may start clearing out the greenhouse.

    Have a good day.

How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team
