    Flossy the glossy has been a local celeb bird for about 4 years now I think and I still haven't managed to see it :(

    I think they were coming through via migrations sometimes, but they might be breeding here now - Winterwatch suggests.

     I associate the birds with ancient Egyptians

    Saw one in North Staffs a few years ago. Missed one in Cheshire last week - it dropped in for just one day.

    @wild edges It's a good thing there is a yearly garden birdwatch organized... otherwise your windows would get more and more opaque. ;)
