and that's why I gave up using fat balls. :|  I tried a feeder with cage surround but jackdaws will get into anything. They're great birds though if you can ignore the antisocial habits.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I'm on 118 so far. Coming thick & fast suddenly. In just over a week I've added Ring Ouzel, Wheatear, Redstart, Pied Flycatcher, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Yellowhammer, Linnet, Swallow, Sand Martin, House Martin, Little Ringed Plover & Grey Partridge.
The migrants have been slow to arrive here. There's a few Wheatears and the odd Swallow but that storm and the snow have put them off a bit I think. I have high hopes for next week and the Cuckoos should be back any day now.
I finally managed to tick off Pied Flycatcher today. We spent a couple of hours around RSPB Nagshead in the Forest of Dean and hardly saw any birds at all then just as we got back to the car it started raining. I took a short walk while my wife was sorting out the kids and one flew into the shelter of a tree right in front of me. By that point it was lashing down so much I couldn't use my camera or binoculars so I was lucky it was so close. B)
