The F/F has packed in totally. . . in this heat image

Fortunately I managed to squeeze the frozen stuff into the basement chest freezer.  I have filled flasks with milk and sat them on the stone floor there.  Hope the replacement arrives soon.

We take all appliances for granted now. Gone are the cool larders etc.

What a nuisance, Joyce. When we had the kitchen extension built I asked for a cool larder, so the architect drew it in a north corner. What we hadn't realised until it was too late was that he ran the kitchen radiator pipes under the larder floor!image

Fairygirl, if you pop in, I have sent you a PM.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Thanks BL - I've replied  image

    Sorry about your friend.

I can't cope with 27 never mind 37. I couldn't live in a country that's consistently hot in summer  image

If the weather's right, there is no finer place on earth than our bonny country  CJWP  image

Joyce - my fridge freezer is on it's last legs too. The condenser unit is done, I reckon. I inherited it when I moved in here which was very handy, but it goes into meltdown - literally - every so often, leaving puddles on the floor...image

I was almost glad to be at work today and not out in the heat. Thankful that I work in a cold building on a day like today image

B'man - they said on the radio earlier that the rain was due in Ppauper's neck of the woods  by late afternoon so it should be arriving later this evening with Joyce and me. You might escape it till through the night! Don't know if we'll get the thunder and lightning though - it's always a bit random. I made the effort to go and cut the grass last night after dinner, and took my frustration ( over yesterday's events here...) out on the rhodie at the front door. It'll definitely be coming out now....image

Hazel - google the Met Office weather site. I use several for walking, and it's the most consistently accurate, even when dealing with the, inevitable, hourly changes !

Haven't read back a lot but hope everyone is ok.

Evening all. No pictures I'm afraid Star. Unless you want one of Reggie on the now carpetless floor enjoying a selection of his toys!

No rain here so far FG. Torrents forecast in words but not in the pics on the BBC weather site image which I find quite accurate for these parts. We have slight clouding over which has helped with the scorching temperatures but means we're in for a warm muggy night.

Just looked at the Met Office one pp - early hours of the morning for the rain here, through the day and into evening. Some heavy stuff, some sun, so could be anything really! image

The one you use is  much the same. It's still saying you might get some thunder overnight which may spread across to Argyll. I love a good thunderstorm  image
