I caught the news just before midnight last night. I hardly slept. It got worse, the figures came in, another gunman on the run, hostages in hotels. It seems total chaos.
Morning all/afties Pat if you're around. Hope you're on the mend.
No fidget - nothing to do with religion, in my opinion, and only about power and domination. They'll use any old excuse for their vile behaviour. I also heard there was another attack in Brussels too but haven't really seen anything on the news about that.
Joyce - because ordinary people are the easy target. They're cowards - no fighting face to face with a trained, equipped army for them eh?
Thank God I live in Scotland.
Off to work soon. Catch you all later.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
It has always come down to religion if you look back, Fidget. It's the "them or us" syndrome. Don't people realise we only have one planet to live on? Get over it, idiots who think they are always the only ones allowed to follow a particular road. Makes me mad as well as sad.
Enjoyed a lovely evening with friends at a Bastille Day picnic last night, fantastic fireworks, great atmosphere, Charlie was running around with all his friends on the beach - and then we wake up this morning to see the news of what's happened in Nice, what can you say?

I know the nutters always claim that their God is on their side. I was reminded of this while perusing an auction site. A german WW2 belt buckle with (God is with us in german) on it. The men fighting the Germans also thought that God was on their side. All Abrahamic faiths have a common starting point in a translation of the Old Testament. Thou shalt not kill.
I had an argument with a catholic priest who was bought in in an attempt to convert me when I married my first husband. The Irish troubles were at the height. My brother in law was a catholic british soldier, who dared not visit family in Northern Ireland because it would make them a target. His mother sat glued to the news every night, hoping it was not a member of her family being blown up.One mans freedom fighter is another mans terrorist.Protestants versus Catholics. All supposedly Christian. Thou shalt not kill.
As I said to the priest. If that is religion , you can stuff it.

All in the name of religion.
Morning all ... So much sadness
Here in Norfolk the sun is shining and the sky is blue and the garden look beautiful in the low morning sunshine ...
Today I shall pop up to the farm shop for food for the weekend, then potter in the garden ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Hard to get enthusiastic for the summer holidays when so many people have lost their reasons to smile.
Morning Clari ((hugs))
yes it's hard - but to change who we are and what we do is the aim of the terrorists. - we must not change
