i still haven't read back, but will try in the morning. We made do with leftovers for dinner tonight because we were both tired after our trip today Then flopped in front of TV for what seemed hours watching Britains Got Talent. They were selecting for the semifinals. Could hardly keep my eyes open. Night all.
Huge congratulations to Lily P and family nice to hear such happy news for a change.
The rest of you have been busy - veg patch sounds as though it's going great guns Dove. Not a huge fan of goosegogs myself - but I'm looking forward to my first harvest of red and black currants - lots on the bushes - just hope I spot them ripening before the birds...
Back from a long day at the office and then traipsing round town looking for birthday cards, presents and a diamond wedding anniversary card. Not too many of the latter around - guess not many people make 60 years. Most of those that are out there I would not put my name name to - very cutesy and soppy. Was looking for something like me - simple but sophisticated . Eventually found it - but it was in the last shop of course..
Need another cuppa now. Had one at 7.30am - nothing else until 3.30pm. Think I may be a wee bit dehydrated.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Been busy all morning pulling up mare's tail by the bucket load. It has really enjoyed this cool, wet weather. Not as many nettles and thistles as before in the big triangle so some good news. Ground cover roses (label lost years ago) and peonies and colourful ajuga reptans all doing very well and loads of lovely buds on shasta daisies, veronica, anchusa Loddon Royalist so lots to come in amongst all the shrubs and hardy geraniums.
Shrub and climbing roses dead-headed and fed, clematis tied in and fed, a wussy William Shakespeare dug up and potted along with two baby Kiftsgate ramblers. Marie-Christine has brought me a luscious shrubby sage with deep purple flowers and taken away a Kiftsgate baby. Do love a good swap.
I have planted out 7 rooted weeping willow cuttings along the stream in our very wet paddock and potted one up for my new pond and taken a cutting of our twisted willow for the new pond too. I did a dozen in March but ended up giving them all away.
Was minding my own business this pm dead head Teasing Georgia and Malvern Hills when the heavens opened without warning. Got drenched. I shall go and finish that job now.
Can't stand football and all the hoo-hah but very happy for Wales. Great result for them and for football.

CONGRATULATIONS LP!!
The school was great fun; I do hope there wasn't a class trying to learn with us blasting the sirens for hours.
Cut the lawn on the highest setting; it's grown so quickly with all of this rain. I'll cut it again tomorrow on a lower setting (weather permitting).
Oh Lilyp, that's wonderful news. So very pleased for you. Sending very best wishes, congratulations and huge hugs for you all. xxxx
Afternoon all!
