Hello to those still awake. 8.45am here. I've just woken and laying here with the iPad. Isn't it convenient? It's a bit cold around the shoulders, but weather- wise the sun is trying to sneak through gaps in curtains.
Nothing particular planned for today, so I might take HRH for a little walk. Got to keep her moving.
I'm glad you're back Dove and pleased your holiday went well.
Hi again, it's now 3pm so I expect some of you will be on in an hour or so.
ive had a very productive day in the garden. Dug, limed and fertilised a garden fed and transplanted garlic and red onions. I've still got white onions and leeks to go, but I'm happy with the progress. It makes such a difference having sun, even though it's cool. There's snow on the ski fields which makes skiers happy since thevQueens birthday long weekend is the traditional time for the ski season to start,
By the way, we used to play jacks with the knuckle bones from roast lamb.
This , getting up early to go to work malarky takes some getting used to, esp a 6.45am alarm call on a Sunday. Hey ho.
Dreech here, but the rain is good for the garden, and farmers I'm sure.
My freeby water lily is the most divine pure white. I've got it in the tunnel so I'll get it into the pond after work if it's stopped raining, or tomorrow.
I'd love to join a dance class. I did ballroom dancing when I was young. Think Billy Elliot: he was doing ballet in a mining town, I did ballroom dancing in a shipbuilding town. No wonder I blub all the way through that film. My childhood right there.
Welcome home Dove - sorry you've got the sniffles.
Glad BL's strawberry tea went well & I wish DD good luck for this afternoon - I'm sure your visitors will enjoy it whatever the weather.
Had a great afternoon yesterday - some really good acts at the Blues festival & the CAMRA beer tent had an excellent selection. Nice and warm - not too sunny. Fortunately I had checked the weather forecast before leaving - yellow warnings for heavy rain - so I decided to forego the beer & took the car instead of bikes.
We left early at 6pm because I needed to come home to do a few jobs & water veg beds before our trip. Shut the car door to the first crack of thunder. Within 10 mins the roads were flooding & it was difficult driving - fortunately it's only about 7 miles.
Certainly no need to water the beds and new plantings - will just have a quick whizz round & do a couple of pots before we set off for the Cotswolds.
Have a good day everyone!

Dreich here too but the right kind of rain for the garden and long overdue. As long as they remember to turn the tap off again...
Hosta - did you sew all the sequins on yourself?

Hope DD's day goes well too. I'm sure everyone will love it.
