Fairy, have you actually had 'real' rain ? We only had a few hours of fine drizzle yesterday evening image

Rain here too - but welcomeimage. At least its not wild weather, just the gentle soaking stuff at the moment.

My sister is coming today to take Dad to hers.....for the next week of recovery.  After that I think he'll be ready to go home, although he'll have to rely on friends and taxis for lifts, as I don't think his foot will be ready for driving this side of August.

Might get some potting on done later - I can work in the GH if the rain is still here.

    Have a good day folksimage

Oh Joyce! It's just you! My mum had torrents on Friday and I had torrents late yesterday. It has passed you by! image

Thursday was still lovely weather, so we went outside and scrubbed out one water butt and replaced it.  Its overflow butt was almost empty, so finished that off in the evening on the containers and one border, with the intention of scrubbing that one on Friday.  Busy in the a.m. then in the afternoon, we had a torrential thunderstorm that lasted about an hour.  Goodie, I thought, a couple of inches in the clean butt to start us off again (there was 3 inches of rainwater in a bucket I had inadvertently left outside) and I could maybe pop out between showers to do the other one out.  Amazingly, after that one hour of rain, the clean water butt was full to the brim...even more amazingly, so was the overflow butt - and they are both big containers! No wonder yesterday a.m. saw me tidying up and cutting out fallen lupins, battered to death, giving the geraniums the 'Chelsea Chop' as they were too "bloody and bowed" to stand upright and sorting out my containers and climbing plants.  I'm hoping for a decent spell this aft to sort out the rest of the garden...but then, that's what we live for, isn't it?imageimageimage

    Shhh, quiet please.

Morning all, just waking up after a most fabulous wedding. My lovely nephew got married yesterday. Chucking it down all day after weeks of glorious sunshine, sods law.

Had a wonderful day, I've laughed, I've cried (in the church), sang, danced and if I'm honest ended up a little drunk by the early hours, ha, ha. (went to bed around 4 am)

For once I'm sat in bed, not the garden doing a Sunday morning post, I'm getting too old for late night partying. image

Still have a giant mug of tea though. image

Going to start reading back for a catch up. Have a happy Sunday.

It's mainly been that fine stuff Joyce - but obviously been on for several hours through the night and still on when I got up. It was quite steady at that point.  Off now, but there's a good inch or so in an empty pot under my bench, and the little bird bath is pretty full - it's about 3/4" deep.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Well tried to edit spelling mistakes, took me ages to get in, corrected mistakes, but still came back as before. image

This scrolling is still getting on my nerves.

    Morning all image

Sniffles have turned into Chestikoff ... OH has nipped to the SM for Lockets which are working wonders, bless him.

Brekkie was lovely creamy scrambled eggs and chives on wholemeal toast - yum.  Now I'm waiting for the paracetamol to work before I go out and pot on the tomatoes ..........

Chicky - glad your father's on the mend image

Kitty, I know it's in bold, but I'm only whispering, honest image

We've only had the fine stuff too ... warm and damp ... good growing weather/good blight weather ..... which will it be?
