Chicky I'm glad your Dad is coping and I'm sure they would want to see him sooner if there were any immediate worries.  I know you won't have peace of mind till he's been thoughimage.

Liri I'm sure your prize won't look out of place in your garden,  Don't be in such a rush to give them awayimage.  You can grow all sorts of informal things up themimage.

Pdoc It was so hot here this morning that I had to keep coming into the shade but it's cooled down and although rain threatens it hasn't come to anything yet.  We really could do with it.  Btw perhaps blackout curtains would help to keep you in bed on these sunny morningsimage.  It's that and the birds that wake me.

  • This is such a busy thread - takes a while to catch up.  Lovely day again.  Popped in for a cuppa.

Runnybeak - missed your PM so have posted out more Hellebores!!  good job you like them and hope they do well.

DD - getting ready for Open Gardens weekend.  We are situated slightly outside of town so hope at least a few peeps make the effort to toddle along.  I thought about getting a 'clicker' to count all the viewers!!  HaHa image

Trying to find time to pot on seedlings of Abutilon and Hibiscus, plant even more veg and rustle up some shade for green house.  Makes me smile as we wash the panels to let in as much light as possible then cover it all with shading!!

    Have a lovely afternoon all.

Getting a bit oppressive in the garden, and thunder is rumbling around, so I've come in to do some indoor jobs.  I think it's raining not too far away, so I'll hold off watering until later and see...

Melted during the volunteers walk around Rotherham but it was wonderful to see so many friendly people.

I am now laying in a cool room trying to drum up the enthusiasm to clean up ready for the builders coming later to quote for the grand designs.

Gosh you go to bed early RB. Or have you just snuck off to watch TV? Glad your son's leg is getting better. It sounded horrific.

I've spent most of the day in the garden, except when there was a downpour.

Going to lunch with son and small GSs tomorrow.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Evening all I'm on my phone so sorry for any mistakes.  On manna duty today.  My 2 yr old granddaughter announced that she would like to eat at the cafe today.  So we went to the GC.  Didn't buy any plants.  Afterwards we went to her sisters school  we walked a mile for Race for Life.  2 year old very impressed with herself and her medal.

Very sorry to interrupt the flow of conversation but I wonder if someone could help me. I received an email a few moments ago to say that 1Runnybeak1 sent a message to me on the forum about an hour ago. When I looked at the part which says 'My Messages' there was nothing there. Is it usual for there to be a delay like this?

Incidentally, now that the 'cooling off' brouhaha is forgiven and forgotten I shall be returning to my usual role of chief cook and bottlewasher. I am only employed as a gardener for heavy lifting duties. So I shall soon be bowing out as gracefully as possible from this forum and its many gracious inhabitants.

I thought that it should be in your inbox under messages, if you have had the email notification.

    Evening all,

Thanks for good wishes, also on a 'gadget' which keeps auto correcting so apologies for any errors. image

Been in garden . All day, my friend has been helping me and I am starting to feel better about it but things are way behind normal, not a lot of colour out there. image. If we get more Sun maybe it'll move things along - miracles do happen.

Baking cakes tomorrow for big day, a fruit cake and a chocolate brownie thingy.

Sorry, gadget too tricky to manage to write more, my best wishes to all, especially poorly OHs and sons and pets with burnt paws. image

Night all, btw, New guests are very appreciative. image

    Evening all.

Rain at last... image  so I've not needed to water anything this evening (so had to do the i*****g instead.  Every silver lining has a cloud.)  Clouds obscured the valley and thunder rumbled almost continuously all afternoon, until finally the storm shifted enough for us to have a couple of hours of rain.  I've only just realised I left the bedroom window wide open throughout...  Hopefully the water butt, which had 2" of water remaining in it, will have a bit more in now.

    Night night all.  image
