Hi All, just back in from serving at a wedding, nice people and all went well - except the weather. can't believe how cold and wet it is here.
I decapitated all my roses earlier, hoping to save them from themselves and have them looking their best for the 12th of June. I was going to put some granular feed down but it is far too wet, maybe tomorrow, don't want them to peak too soon. Anyone know how soon after a feed they will look marvelous???
Dove & Hosta, I hope you all have a marvelous time, next year we should liaise better and all arrive at the same time.
Right, off to bed now, busy day tomorrow, teaching all day and the topic is 'will' and 'going to' . Does anyone know how tricky that is to explain to 2nd language students? Luckily, a fish and chip shop van is arriving in town tomorrow night so we are going to that and will enjoy a lovely traditional GB favourite to get over the stress.
P.S. Anyone noticed the spell checker on here is American English or is that just me?

Someone left a hosta in my compost bin. I looked in today on the way past and there it was! Good present or what? Lucky I looked because it isn't in a pot...it could have sat there for ages!!!
DD - yes I have noticed and add the English spelling when it tries to tell me I'm wrong. French speakers use the same construct as going to with the verb aller - je vais au marché; je vais faire; je vais voir...
It is cold and wet here and we're having thunderstorms now. Bonzo dog doesn't like those and creeps under the furniture. I'm getting fed up with being stuck indoors as there's so much to do out there and the grass is growing apace and far too wet to cut. Belgians talk a lot about weather. Lot of it about.
Possum has asked me to make fish and chips. Wants traditional English food. She'll have to wait till it warms up and dries up. Not using the deep fat fryer indoors. Not even sure it will work. Last used it about 20 years ago for some visiting children whose parents let them have chips with everything. Quel horreur!
Patchwork class for me on Thursdays. I hope we all get decent weather for our assorted activities and travels.

Have a safe journey Dove and I am sure you will be treated like royalty when you get there, even if you are only "minor royalty".
Hope the wind (and the winos) behave today.
You must be getting very frustrated with the weather DD as you prepare for your open day
I do hope your good weather returns soon
