First of all I want to say a huge thank you for all the well wishes and words of encouragement today and over the last few stressful weeks/days. I am sure I have been boring half of you to death with my repeated stresses about the Open Garden Day.
Anyway, although the weather wasn't particularly kind all went well, if a bit hectic (quiet morning customer wise but as I was still baking shortbread and icing cakes probably a good thing). Had a very busy afternoon, started off very civilized with Lizzie and her OH joining us for lunch and then suddenly a whole pile of people came all at once.
Have now spent a lovely evening at the same party as Bizzie Lizzie, so nice to be on the receiving end of socialising for once and not dashing around organising.
Welcome back Dove, we missed you, hope you feel better soon too.
Chicky, glad to hear your Dad is on the mend and you are getting some respite too.
WW - hello, missed you as well.
Hosta, hope the job is not too much of a shock to the system for you, perhaps it might help you sleep.
Lucky you, new carpet Fairy, enjoy - we were discussing today the rather strange French habit of glueing carpets to the floor, never to be lifted or changed apparently, certainly not easily.
Sorry if I have missed anyone's good/bad news, I hope you are all well, I am exhausted but happy. Will try and find time tomorrow to start a new thread with pics of today.
Good night all.

So pleased it all went well DD - looking forward to the pics. I still think it s an incredibly brave thing to do .....but I love wandering round other people's gardens, so I am so glad there are some brave people out there. Now its time to relax (.......as if)
Turning in now - need to be in London for 8.30, so might catch you all on the train tomorrow morning???
Good evening all. It took a while to read back. But at least I've now caught up on everyone's news that you posted while slept heavily for 8 hours.
Obelixx, I can't imagine why you say you're just a beginner on the patchwork. They're really good! And the iris is very well done. I remember the trouble of getting the points to meet, it wasnt until I was shown how to get the machine to do half stitches that I could do it. Not a bad idea to start a crafty thread, especially in my case since winter is here.
DD I'm glad your evenwent well. NOW RELAX AND REST!
It's my day off today; his lordship has given me a chore list and then I'm off to work to open the museum for a VIP visit. Oh and I've got to do session two of couch to 5k this evening too.

Still dry here. I've decided that the rain gods have conspired to save the rain for Trump's visit next month. He will only be half an hour away
What an opportunity
Joyce - with a bit of luck there'll be thunder, lightning and a plague of frogs when the cretin arrives....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I couldn't resist taking a photo of HRH who hasn't been out for her morning twinkle today. Still in her bed.
I've started a new thread for those of us interested in craft and art
its in the potting shed and called Gardening Crafters. Hope you enjoy.
HRH looks very settled!
