£1 each instead of £3.99 at Wyevale. I'm quite pleased with this, as I'll use them alongside the Rosemary to make a herb area in my new flowerbed!

    5 x woodland strawberry

    1 x conference pear twig

    1 x bramley apple twig

Less than £8 for the lot in Morrisons. They'll need some tlc but fingers crossed.

  • Thanks Aym, heres the name, descriptions and suggested uses(!)for each one (left to right):

  • That's a good idea, I like to work out things like that.

    Time to start a list!

    £16.78 for the lot!

All from Dobbies except for the two on the left (£1.39, Lidl).

Some for the new bed, others for existing ones.

  • Thanks Aym. The periwinkle is to go in my shady bed, probably under the red robins to try and cut down on the space for weeds. I was looking for primulas for that bed too, and there are several in the hanging basket, so in the end it actually worked out cheaper to buy the reduced basket than the primulas on their own.

I've never grown anemones before, can they be picky? I also have some seeds to try out.

  • Thanks aym, that's a really kind offer.

I haven't got a cold frame or greenhouse, so also fear I'll end up feeding the slugs! Think I might need to get some nematodes.

I got a load of plants  for  a fiver. Unfortunately I couldn't resist. Most of them are trailing and I need plants for the beds!

I spoke to an  employee who was really frustrated. She said that most of the plants arriving were practically dead already. So it's not just we online buyers who are getting stuffed.

There were loads of municipal salvias.  who wants them? There was a ceanothes for 50p. I hate them, so I wouldn't want it for free! Some of the plants were in pots that would cost more than the plant. I felt a bit uncomfortable. It was like stealing the pennies off a corpse

    In London. Keen but lazy.
