I know how you feel Hosta, my hub's head only has to touch the pillow and he's off, I then lay there listening to his snores!! Makes me smile when the next morning he complains that he didn't have a good nights kip.......I know better!
Hubby once slept in taxi to Goa airport,an hour in the airport, the hour flight to Mumbai, 3 hours in that airport , 4 hours on the Mumbai / heathrow flight then woke up saying he " must've dropped off" !!!!!
He regularly falls asleep and misses take off on planes.
My friend dreamed that she couldn't get to sleep and we all roared and laughed because she's a bit of a case. Years later the same thing happened to me. I woke up feeling as though I'd been hit with a baseball bat! Not sleeping is not funny!
Cat has started a new trick of waking at 5am and then coming to curl himself round my head & purring his head off while nuzzling my ear. Cute - but not conducive to getting enough sleep.
OH can sleep through just about anything, anywhere, anytime.
He has paid the price though - on more than one occasion he has awoken to find a freshly applied 'tattoo' (childrens' transfers) or a bit of artwork where I've drawn on him.
Well a girl gets bored listening to snoring at 1am...
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
No you are right pp its not a joke to sufferers. I have always tried not to worry about it , thinking ( rightly or wrongly) that my body knows what it needs. Thankfully now I only work part-time, so I cope ok but there are occasions esp when I know I'm in for a hectic day when I do get a bit stressed during the early hrs- laying awake at 3:30 knowing that I have to be up at 6 to face a 10:1/2hr working day is sometimes a worry. I think my sleep changed on having my kids, our house is large and I feel that I just had to always keep a listen out for then during the night....now 30 + yrs later my body is still on night duty despite the fact that they have all left home!!!!!!
Good morning all I won't brag, but I didn't wake until 7am this morning What's that about? Now I've had dippy egg and toastie soldiers and have made a pot of coffee ... when that's drunk we're spending the day in the garden - OH is getting the slow cooker from the back of the pantry and the rolled shoulder of lamb can go in there with onions and a sprig or two of rosemary for this evening
I once fell asleep while laying on the concrete floor of a sculpture studio - I had straws up my nose and an art student applying Plaster of Paris to my face to make a mask - if I lay down I go to sleep - it's as simple as that ........ usually ..........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
