Evening all, I've just turned down the brightness on my laptop (took a while to find out how to do it).  Only had to turn it down slightly and it's made a huge difference to the starkness of the screen.  I've checked my messages and they are all still there.  If only we get the jump to first unread post back I think I will be ok.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

I get an error message if I try to click on followed threads. Nora tells me I have  glitch.

I have installed adblocker plus to get rid of adverts , I could live with the ones on the old site but I am totally p****d off with the B&Q shed in the middle of postings.

Last night we had a shocking experience. Sex on the patio.

Mr and Mrs Mallard have been around a few weeks now, and come to the back door to be fed.

Last night they were on the front. He jumped up and tapped on the window, then the pair went back onto the road, waddled up to next doors, around their back and finally managed to work through the shrubbery onto my back. They had some seed, then  he jumped on top of her, looking very pleased with himself. In broad daylight, ten feet away from us.

    Hello all,
Been rushing around like a mad thing all day, in fact the last couple of days actually. I’ve been trying to read back, all a bit odd, but I suppose we will work it out. I also looked at another recommended gardener’s site but that was difficult to work out too, given my very limited time to learn. Will persevere on here, too many people I like to chat to give up yet. image

    Yvie, beautiful baby.image

Dove and Lyn – thinking of you both, thought Lizzie’s comments touching regarding loss, so different for each of us. image

Flowers, I saw Jungle Book last week with son, loved it. It was the French version but I presume your son had just as much impact. I might even go to see it again. image

Kitty too, not in the least annoyed at you, frustrated a bit by new site but I am absolutely positive you are in no way responsible. (I hope my newly fixed smiley conveys jest). If not I am only kidding. image

Bushman, hope you are feeling a bit better now. On a recent trip to UK I managed to squeeze in a trip to Hosta, well worth the detour. If I get back again soon I will be up to you for a real bear hug instead of my ‘virtual’ one. I won’t even mind if it is a bit rough around the edges. image

Fairy, I hope you extension is worth all the upheaval, I think having a bed is a fairly acceptable essential so probably worth it. image  Here in the B&B I must admit I ‘ bed hop’ quite a bit and as much as I have tried to persuade OH a ‘summer house’ would solve a lot of issues he is yet to be convinced.image  On the 2nd of August somehow I have managed to secure bookings for 13 people – we only officially accommodate 9, and that is a tight squeeze, think the tent will be coming out that night – or red wine so no one cares where they are sleeping. image

Sat awaiting yet more guests tonight, 7pm arrival – yeah right, even late at UK time. Luckily a bottle of red has kept me company. I do hope they don’t want breakfast at crack of dawn, or if they do I hope Dove has plenty of coffee available.image

Forgot to mention, went to a sort of coffee morning/plant sale today and for €10 secured a lot of lovely looking plants. imageimageimage Tomatoes, Leeks, Hosta, climbing thingys (technical term) day lillies, verbena and other stuff I can't remember but certainly couldn't live without. image Oh and runner beans. </

Well, he certainly looked pleased with himself.

She turned up on her own this morning, if shes laid an egg, he's going to have to look after it.

    Dirty b***ers....imageimage

I think the techies will sort out the problems DD. There were ongoing issues with the old format, but most people seemed to adapt.  Seems to be a few unnecessary changes when there were only some tweaks needed. Hopefully it's not all been down to money forcing the issue, ( which appears to be a popular belief) and they will find a balance. I'd hate to see this all go south  image

Looking forward to my bed  image

I couldn't cope with what you do DD - I'd find having all those people around and 'in my space' very trying!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Funnily enough Fairy, they help with the more permanent 'very trying' people. image
