    Morning all.

Have to go out this morning, but rain isn't forecast so should be able to do some gardening this afternoon.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Morning everyone!

Rainy day today, but got a lot done yesterday - planted up shrubs in the new border, took out the second pond and started backfilling it, got the new long planter my H made for me nearly ready for planting up (ran out of compost!)

Today I'm picking up my order from Dorset Perennials, getting more compost to finish filling the planter (and if the weather improves, will plant up my climbing rose and honeysuckle in there). If it's all rained off, I'll be doing some armchair gardening instead, on the computer image

If you're short of potting compost, KBG, why not put a layer of sieved soil in the bottom where the weeds won't germinate?  (Much).

  • HI Steve - great minds think alike - I did that, but not quite enough obviously, as I still ran out! image It's a really big planter (1.8 metres long) so I'm too lazy to take it out and do it again...

this morning with the newly dug bed it is like a scene from the film birds! Hope they leave me some worms do their work image

    Morning all.

What a stupid time to be awake when I've no need.

Grey and dreech out and I was hoping to carry on my new project. Maybe it'll brighten up later, otherwise it's the polytunnel for me.

I'd rather have slept well LAST night, than the prospect of to-night. tee hee.

Bird in the hand and all that eh?

I wish I did  like waking up early, but I just feel cheated of more sleep.image
