I've had a full house with eldest daughter back home Fri to Mon with boyfriend in tow. The tofu went down well, I did a simple garlic and soy marinade and stir fried with veggies. Thanks for the helpful tips Dove and Jimmy.
Overcast here but not too chilly, might do some pricking out this afternoon.
Morning all - wet and getting wetter at the moment.
Hired tree stump grinder should have been delivered between 8 and 8.30 . Job needs to be done today - rain or no rain.
Hope Hosta is feeling ok and is not too sore.
Nice aubergines Pat - I enjoyed growing those when I had a greenhouse. My other favourites were cucumbers and melons - you could almost see them growing.
Dove - if you're off to the market can you pick up a couple of crabs and a big bunch of coriander for me please? Ta
Enjoy your day folks - SYL
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Pat, thousands of the migrants are genuine. In a village very near us in France some French people got together to welcome 2 families from Iraq. One day they were in their homes when men from ISIS armed with knives and guns banged on their doors and told them either to join them or be shot or leave their homes immediately, taking nothing. They were picked up by a charity, sleeping on a pavement. One family had 4 small children and mum was pregnant. Her baby girl has now been born in France. They are both Christian families. The men from ISIS said they were aiming to eradicate Christians.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Ah yes BL - it will be heaving and best avoided in the summer!
There's a lovely riverside pub not far from here where we were taken by some friends last summer - I can't remember the name today but it will come to me.
Topbird - crabs and coriander on the list
It's absolutely tipping it down now
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
BL , I do think we should have done more to help Syrian Christian , enjoy your drink with neighbours
just decided as weather not looking to good will pop up allotment and plant new rasberry bed this morning and start sorting out side conservatory ready for decorating

It's overcast here, but mild - it was nearly 10C when I got up this morning. I turned the heating off and OH hasn't noticed
I've got a trip into the city later this morning for my dental check-up ... will probably pop along to the market - anyone want anything?

Dove, one village we went to was Horning, pretty, but I expect it will be bustling in the summer.

Maybe we could meet you there in June, Dove. Any more news of Ma? Such a worrying time of uncertainty for you.
B&Q have just been and collected the broken garden table they'd delivered. They'll be back later with the replacement.
We have been invited by neighbours for a drink at midday.
