Been absent a few days - got busy in the garden, went to the Harrogate flower show on Friday (bought a few treasures ), then accompanied OH for a weekend in lovely Liverpool where he was conducting a concert on Sat, & today we went to a model railway exhibition (his passion, not mine, but I like the detailed scenic modelling - tiny allotments, street scenes etc). We visited Rufford Old Hall on the way home, and admired the Spring flowers in the gardens. They also have an orchard filled with Northern varieties of apple. I really fancy trying 'Northern Spy'...
I managed to read back. It took me a good half hour... The happy loonies made me laugh though!
Night all.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Oh liri sounds like you had a wonderful weekend did you take pics of the show? What treasures did you get?
We have also just had chicken delivered as wacked out! The two beds I had mapped out turned out into one bed and took six hours to dig out! Oh dug and I wheelbarrowed the turf to bottom of garden where beau now has his very own telly tubby hill
i am shattered but very happy and will dream of planting tonight!
I only took one photo at the show, because it was absolutely heaving! There aren't many show gardens there, and to be honest, I wasn't impressed with most of them, but I took a photo of the Wallace & Gromit garden made by disabled adults from Horticap, just because it was fun! For some reason I can't upload any photos at the moment though
It's a bit dark for reading labels! but I got 2 Dicentras, some sweet pea plants (the mice got the ones I was growing from seed), a pink wood anemone, some double primroses, a couple of ground cover plants for my shady bit, and a tiny peach-flowered saxifrage for my dad's lump of tufa. I travelled by train so there was (probably luckily!) a limit to the number of plants I could carry. Got some new gardening gloves and some Nemasys (nematodes to kill vine weevil) as well.
That's my "gardening budget" used up for a bit...

Sounds like a great day out Liri - lots of treasures there. A peachy flowered saxifrage sounds gorgeous. Keep meaning to ask you which day you are going to Chelsea? I am going to be there with my Dad and sisters on the Tuesday.
escaped the frost here, but the rest of the week looking dodgy. All my seedlngs are now in the cold GH, being covered at night with propagator lids. Think I may add a layer of fleece for the next few nights as an insurance policy.
Right, gotta go.....places to be, people to see and all that jazz

Good morrow gentlefolk one and all. Overcast in Flanders - better get out there before it rains.
