Oh wow well and truly spoiled on a 3 course menu That's what I like to see! I do believe so Paula, they can probably smell each other. Nature is weird and wonderful isn't it?!
Hi all, thought I'd give you an up date on Henry and Henrietta. I posted two stool samples to Oxton Rescue and Linda phoned me today. She said Henrietta has lungworm and some other worm even though she's been to the vets, but poor little Henry is absolutely riddled. She said don't be surprised if I find him dead when I check on him. Henry is not even touching his mealworms he eating less than 50g chicken in jelly. I've just weighed both of them. Henrietta is 500g now from 345g, so it doesn't seem to be affecting her to much, at least she's putting on weight. Poor little Henry weighs only 300g now ,he looked a little bigger than Henrietta when we first got him. Now he looks so small. Linda from the rescue said she would phone me as soon as she has room for the both of them. I do hope Henry makes it.
I've just refilled their hot water bottles and left them to settle after disturbing them. Arms, fingers and legs crossed for little Henry.
Hi Tetley, thank you. I would do anything for these little guys. They are so cute. It will be hard when Linda takes them but hopefully she will bring them back when they are better.
They say they normally release them back in the same place they were caught.
I have three HH houses in the garden ready for when they can go outside.
Hi Paula....so sorry to hear about wee Henry, hope he picks up ?. Your doing a great job with them both and you do get attached to them dont you??. Keeping fingers crossed for them both...
Hi clarice673 , yes you certainly do get attached to them .I got a call from Linda this morning ,she's coming to fetch the pair of them today. Hopefully before I go to work at 2.15, but OH will be in anyway. I'm not to worried about Henrietta to much as she's gained weight and is eating ok.Its little Henry I'm concerned about. I've not checked him this morning cause I know Linda's coming and don't want to stress him to much.At lease I know he's going to get better treatment with the meds Linda will give him. Just hope the little fellows still strong enough it.
Awwwwe poor wee guy.....?? but you gave him the best chance Paula and pat yourself on the back for doing just that ✋. Everything crossed for your other one....and hugs to you. ?
For everyone, top couple of posts re: mealworms and why feeding too many is bad for the hogs calcium levels/bone tissue. Try to use them as an occasional treat.

Hi all, I've just took Henry's box out from under the table and checked him. I picked him up.
He's not moving and I can't see him breathing ,not even shallow. I'm sure he's gone. Poor little Hog.
Fingers crossed for Henrietta.

Thanks clarice673.
Hi all hoggy lovers ,Linda text me and Henrietta's turned out to be a Henry.
.We buried his room mate this morning under the bird feeder where the hoggys normally feed.
Linda's on facebook so I can keep up to date with his progress.
He'll be back with us in the spring.
Sounds very promising Paula. Well done indeed
