Hostofan, I remember being outside the EU, high inflation, shortages, unemployment, the pound being of low value, it was not good for and like today fat cats got fatter. We joined and broke with our old friends causing them misery as they had to find new markets, they managed but would they look on us now with favour? We joined the monitary union and got our fingers burnt, now our pound is making the Euro look weak. My time was all things German were looked on with hatred, all things French dispised, that was the mindset for years after the war, we in voters back then probably thought we could hold the reins instead we got the manure bucket. My problem is I say out but my children and grandchildren are dithering. It is their europe now, I will vote the way they wish to go.
Excuse the typo's my i pad freezes if i try correcting things. Frank
I feel a little sorry for the Vote Leavers, with whom I have much sympathy, for I feel they will be bitterly disappointed come the day. In fact, I predict a resounding victory for the Remainers, something like 65/35... because it will be the Undecided, like myself and others on this thread, who I think are in the main risk averse, and will vote [if we bother to do so, and I think we will out of duty], for the status quo... thus tipping the balance, which we suppose to be around 50/50 currently...
...like the Scottish who were bought off, this is done by propaganda through fear of the unknown... and it only needs a minority to swing it...
...one thing I don't accept is this idea that this is a once and for all decision.... again like the Scottish, if you vote to Remain, then I believe the option will always be available should relations take a turn for the worse and public opinion demands it, to have a re-vote, at which point the Leave would likely win, as something quite fundamentally disadvantageous must be occurring to warrant it...
...however, if we vote to Leave now, I think that will forfeit any future option, [as it would also for the Scottish], and that Out means Out - for good....and there's no way back....
... that is the risk... but I fully expect Juncker, Tusk, Schultz and company to go very quiet on the lead up.... they wouldn't want to upset the tetchy British at a vital moment...
I don't trust any politician, they are born to lie. If someone from either side gave me a factual pro or con list I'd be better placed to make an informed decision. So far all I've heard is scare mongering from both sides. If the people knew what went on in daily life that is hidden and suppressed by people in dark suits they'd be terrified of getting out of bed in the morning. And speaking as one who has experienced these men in dark suits I really don't foresee anyone telling the population the truth.

Jimmy, our local MP, forgot he'd earned over £400,000 outside Parliament one year.

Given MPs are paid almost £80K a year, one wonders how much work he actually did on behalf of us, his constituents.
They're all the same. Here's a dafty I voted for in a previous residence.

To think folk talk about the " gravy train " in Brussels?
Pigs in a trough, the whole lot of them.
I have read more on this site , rather than the sound bites and scarmongering we seem to have been given , that make sense
Would like more open debate and public meetings
EU definately needs reform , perhaps our referendum / immigrant problem will force the issue

Frank, I remember in the 80s we had high inflation then too, and paying 17% interest on my mortgage.
Does being in , or out hold any guarantees re inflation? I just wish I knew.
