Voting to leave the EU will not move us further away physically - we will not suddenly be able to put up fences around our beaches to repel all borders.
If desperate people are prepared to cross the Mediterranean in tiny overcrowded boats the English Channel and the North Sea won't stop them.
Who among us is prepared to be part of a Dads' Army and patrol the beaches herding families into camps? And then what will we do with them - load them up, struggling and screaming, and send them back to war and famine?
Far better in my opinion to be part of a larger organisation who can combine to come up with a cohesive and co-ordinated plan to deal with Europe's share of a global humanitarian problem.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
The EU is a large bureaucratic organisation and fundamentally undemocratic. Big business likes it because a) it allows cheaper labour to enter the UK and displace expensive UK workers and b) it is easier to lobby one political entity to get 'favourable' rules than to lobby each individual nation. The recent seed and plant scandal is a good example.
The EU produced a draft proposal for seeds and plants after consultation with big business alone. The process was secret. There was no formal process for allowing smal business and private individuals to participate. Fortunately those proposed rules, that massively favoured big business, and could have sent small businesses bust, were rewritten after massive protests. The latest Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership is being created in secret, and is all about big business. It might force us to take imports of US meat full of growth hormones, and not following welfare guidelines imposed on our farmers.
Some are already in Bradford being taught How to speak English and being housed! They also get given tokens to go Morrisons for food, we have seen it with out own eyes, why do they always send them to the poor county's, do they not get it, there are no JOBS .
Makes me laugh how they can travel without a passport.
Verdun, it is not necessarily sticking your head in the sand, by wanting to maintain the status quo. It might be because that is actually what is best.
The migrant crisis [ Syria, Iraq ] is nothing to do with the EU.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

The EU is all about empire building, and power.
