I sat in my house and looked out the window and when they were big enough I weeded them into pots! I had no input whatsoever but they seem to love my garden and self seed quite happily but not enough to be a nuisance. The birds love them.
hi all did a bit of weeding ground soft so a bit easy to take them out found what I had assumed was a onion on further inspection found I had missed 2 garlic nice size as well then it happened the big fellow up stairs says more rain
hi gwrs rhubarb gin sounds have tried it long ago ask O H to try parsnip/ or potatoe wine very nice but use responsibly as rather strong good luck Michael
Just tidied this weekend, weeded, chopped the clover off the paths, deadheaded stuff etc.
Decided the delphiniums were done, even though they weren't and chopped them down and moved out the way. I suspect they are going to test my patience, flopping around and whining on?
Dug a million allium sphaeros out the front garden, because they're a bit of a trip hazard and seed all over the place. Crammed them into a bucket I must have bought a tree in or something and will plant them out at the back end, somewhere less bother-worthy. Chucked the little bulblets in out the way places, they will probably plant themselves.
A bit of sideways rain going on now, so might put t'kettle on
Not done much so far (tennis wins today) but have culled a small Hosta which was more snail shells then leaves and was being invaded by some ornamental grasses. Have a small 'gap' now so am thinking of something cheerful to pop there - Cosmos maybe? What's the verdict on the slug-proofness of Cosmos??
Afternoon in garden , potted up Cape Gooseberrys , pinched out toms , although not doing much and general pottering in garden , just having a cider & cigar outside before dinner

How did you propagate pp? Did you use cuttings or use the berries to seed?
I had never seen one before I moved to my new house/garden - they are quite beautiful.

Off out to clear the front "garden" as the landscapers have confirmed end of July to complete the work on it.
Yippee the eyesore will soon be a proper garden instead of a massive eyesore.
Good news about the front garden progress Lou
