You are right about pots and tubs - they need watering very regularly unless terrific rain levels. Nearly binned the dahlias?!! They are superb!
I have to say Doghouse, that yet another part of your lovely garden looks immaculate! Perhaps a person's garden reflects their personality or mind-set? Any thoughts forum-eers?
My garden is a bit eclectic - some formal/organised and some a bit wild. Ummm...
That is rotten luck Doghouse - so annoying and just think how many Buds and choc ices you could buy for the price of a tyre!
Enjoy the tennis and admire your garden today - the summer season should be about sitting back and enjoying the effort you have previously put in to it.
I have just cleared the back of a border - found a bounty of raspberries nestled away - lovely jubbly!
5 hours of weeding and potting up. Barrow loads of weeds to the compost heaps. Found geum Mrs Bradshaw being swamped so dug them up and potted them and replaced with deep red hemerocallis with a yellow throat which will be much tougher.
Then found my dwarf white Michaelmas daisies were being swamped and eaten so they've come up and been potted - about 15 babies for a new white bed I'm planning. Now to find something to replace them with.
It is still cool and very bluster and very dark with low grey clouds. Supposed to warm up a bit at the weekend. I'll believe it when I see it. Despite all the wet the place is heaving with ants and I lost count of the slugs. They've even laid waste to the foliage on my purple phlomis this year. Yuk!
Off for a well eared shower now and maybe a glass of wine with dinner. OH has picked a load of redcurrants to have with ice cream.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
