Put about 20 pepper and chillies into their final pots.  The overwintered peppers now have fruit forming. image

Pulled up the last of the erysimums which have finally finished flowering and the cuttings I took from them a few months ago are just starting to flower.  Dead headed about half of the sweet rocket and did loads of weeding.  Nemaslug arrived so tomorrow the whole garden gets treated.  Never seen so many slugs!

Women are hard. My dad passed out in the kitchen when he nearly cut the top off his finger. He never let it go about my mum stepping over him and carrying on baking. Her response:- What did you want me to do, lift you and carry you into the other room?

Yesterday was finally dry enough to now the lawn...... it was starting to set seed image

Next on the job list was sorting out a bed in the front garden I started clearing over 3 weeks ago, work had ground to a halt with all the heavy rain.

Emptied it, dug it, weeded it and replanted it. By the time I'd finished and cleared up it was after 9pm, I completely lost track of time with the light nights.

I planted a Philadelphus (think it might be "aurus" with the golden leaf) , a white dicentra, cetaura cineraria, a purple flowering Hebe, variegated euonymous and multiple annuals. Trying to achieve a white and green theme with a bit of purple.

Feeling sore this morning, but happy it's finally done. image

When I was "down yonder" in the scary part of my garden where it's too dangerous to go, I discovered a lovely secluded little suntrap. Just the place for a tea house, garden room, iced bun! If I ever make it that far in the clearances and if it's still a secluded little suntrap, I might just build a gang hut! Something to look forward to methinks. It's going to look like this! image

And that reminds me....I left my wellies outside and they're probably filling up with water as I type! B****r!

That 'shed' it beautiful!!! I makes me want to improve how mine looks... Whenever I open the doors though it looks so bad I run away. image

Today I planted out some more beans and cauliflower plants. I wanted to plant some corn but the ground was too wet still. I found 2 frogs and a snake under the tarpaulin! It was gone before I got to my camera.

    Aspirational/inspirational plant pauper and Doghouse!

Raining in Wales (again!) so no gardening for me today but will do a slug-check on my sunflowers later as moved them to their final position yesterday (in pots) so need to check they are safe.

Highlight of the week... the Philadelphus Mock Orange is in bloom and smells amazing!

My garden and I live in South Wales.

20 million slug nematoes watered in and it started raining just as I finished so perfect!  the 100sq metre pack was enough to do all of my veg patches and borders and all for the price of a couple of plants.  If anything like last year that'll be the last I see of them until the Autumn (assuming Summer actually arrives at some point.)

Hope everone is looking forward the midsummer day on Tuesday - it's all downhill after that folks! image

Was looking at my self heal plant and wondering why in my local woods it is a little tiny plant amongst the trees and in my garden it has become a giant I can't control :-/
