Started to clear / tidy the bottom of the garden in the kids unused play area (almost unused!) . Moved all ugly old flag/stepping stones (which were multifunctional for kids to play on whilst kepting shoes clean and feet off plants) all now behind the shed and I've put all unused pots, buckets etc on them.Bit more weeding in general. Found a spot for Acer Butterfly, which has been struggling in a pot for a couple of years. Tidied area behind bench, planted some lamina to see if it will take. Pondered over a new greenhouse. Come in for a bath before going to mums. Weather not too bad.
Weather has cheered up this PM so had a wander around with a brew.
My crocus are about destroyed from yesterday's carry on, but the potted tulip heads have appeared suddenly and the first hyacinths are colouring up Should have a tonne more daffs open by next weekend too.
I'm going to test a couple of tall grasses in a claggy area with some eupatorium behind the pond, looks nice in my head, haven't got the grasses or one of the eups yet.
Watched the jackdaws collecting scrap basket liner fuzz and stuffing it in my neighbours chimney Oh well, I've got bees in mine, arent we all nice people
Cleared a bit of space in the outbuilding for a couple of plant deliveries I'm expecting when I'm back at work this week.
Think I need to get some trellis for some new clems I bought a few months back but
Ive just come in. Planted lots of seeds. Potted on cuttings that had taken.
Potted up last years dahlia tubers. First time that I've had a go at saving them. I normally just grow from seed as they are so easy. I've watered them and popped them in a cold frame.
Greenhouse is fast filling up.
Starting to get the back-to-work blues after a week off....at least it's a short week though.
Determined to get my work life balance sorted in favour of 'life' from now on.
Rescued two plastic cloche tunnels form being blown all over the garden and put the dustbin cloche back on the rhubarb with a large brick to hold it down.
Not gardening weather here..
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Everywhere saturated after last night's storm but ventured out into the rain and found a tray of aquilegia seedlings I'd sown last year and had forgotten about. All now potted-on as they were still a bit too small to plant out. Of the aquilegia I potted into 9cm pots last autumn, only half of those survived the winter but the neglected ones in the seed tray were fine..
Blue skies and lovely now, just as the sun is going down of course!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Both plastic greenhouses full of seed trays blew over from last nights storm.
Looks like a few seeds had already germinated so put all the compost that fell out the trays back into the trays (no idea now what is in what tray) but now different fun to see if anything grows then trying to guess what it is when I pot them on.
Foul this morning, blowing a gale and tipping it down. Managed to get the mower to start this afternoon and mowed the front. Rewarded myself with a glass of wine sitting outside the back door and then went to the end of the garden to see how much water there is in the ditch. Answer, quite a lot for this time of year
Also discovered that the magnolia has decided it is definitely spring

Very windy here too, with the odd shower. Have been potting up plug plants in the GH.
Sounds like a busy day VS and Mrs G!
