Planted honeysuckle and climbing hydrangea on the pergola today... And dug out a horrid variegated Ivy which was takimg up room next to it, ready for my climbing rose which should arrive tomorrow.
Gawd, there were SO MANY snails living under the Ivy... I wanged them over the fence into the road
I managed to cut the wee grass and"do" the edges of the lane. Where does the muck come from. One minute it's not there and the next minute it has weeds a foot tall growing in it. I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of old dry leaves on the gravel round the house. Weed wand! Worked a treat! Tomorrow big grass and iron lung!
Haven't had time to garden until last night when I spent two hours removing winter bedding and preparing for summer plants.
Problems with phones and internet, all burnt out after Saturday night's storm, house will have to be re-wired for phones. Am at son's today and yesterday, babysitting, 2 little GSs.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Sitting here yesterday, could hear water splashing, thought that was odd, looked outside Luna our Border Collie puppy is in the POND, its a good metre high, brick surround, we had ground level ponds before, and none of our dogs ever went in then, she does go in the sea most days, perhaps she just fancied the water. Little devil took out some of the planting baskets and carried them down the garden, was cross but could see the funny side shame the camera wasnt to hand. Course, this morning, when let out she fancied going back in there, most of it is covered in chicken wire, I think OH will have to cover the rest.
I've had Border Collies for the last 40 years, so easy to train and loyal. My current one will probably be my last and he's 13 He's not keen on going in water unless he can see the bottom and it isn't out of his depth. He doesn't fetch either. He likes rounding things, cars, animals, people, up and then keeps an eye on them.

Yes, this is my third, the previous one was put to sleep January 2015, aged 17. The one before I went to an ex RAF dog trainer (35 years in the RAF) he said a border collie bitch is the most intelligent dog in the world Took them on the beach this morning, she actually went swimming with 2 labs, so perhaps she was just practicing her breast stroke in our pond! When I plant something she comes behind me and digs it up. When we got back from the beach, I let them out of the car, they went to say hello to our neighbour, - luckily, they stopped on our shingle drive, and there were 2 of the most enormous piles of dog poo! I wouldnt have noticed them, they blended in very well with the shingle. I was so angry, wont write what I said!!! I see plant pauper you are the dog made lady.

Jobs , jobs, jobs and when you don't give them a job they'll make up their own! Like for example clearing the pond...!
