Oh I got mad today. For the past month I have been digging out self seeded borage from all over the allotment I thought I had the last of it, boy was I wrong. What a nightmare that stuff is. It's everywhere, I hoe some out, and a week later it's everywhere again.
I've potted on so many seedlings that during my afternoon nap I had a dream of various seedlings dancing around my head on Tchaikowsky's Nutcracker Suite.? ?????
Started planting my seed grown annuals out today, some in pots and some in the ground, also thinned out and potted on some spares in case of gaps.
Planted out a delivery I'd been expecting for over a week. I cut them all back as they looked sweaty and like they'd been grown too warm. Attempted cuttings with the snipped off bits.
Realised in exasperation that the eve prim seedlings I'd transferred into a new bed last year had grown into campanula persicifolia? They've been eve prims for so long I never really looked at them even though there is another C persic half a metre away. Also realised because of this I have 6 camps in one small area and 5 are in an exactly straight line. How imaginative-just the look I was going for?
I've just pottered today, nowt much to do. Garden is in an all-green phase at the mo but earth still showing in places, waiting for seedlings and so forth.
Moved some stuff around today into the gaps created by my binned acid plants. Also moved two panicums (again) as they were overwhelmed where they were.
Made a wish list of plants and bulbs for next year and started planning some manoeuvres. Never happy me
No gardening today, have been recovering gently inside after last night's birthday party for my H.... I just had a gentle trundle around and squished a greenfly or two.
Finally got the tomatoes planted in the greenhouse - 24 in all. It took ages as I had to keep ferrying other things around - you know the drill! Repotted lots of sweet peppers and chillies into slightly larger pots - I find they do far better if potted on 2-3 times before going into their final one. Pulled-up most of the forget-me-nots before they go to seed. Did lots of weeding. Garden is quickly turning into a jungle - everything is growing so fast now!
Also spotted a Pied Wagtail on top of the runner bean frame, the first time I have ever seen one anywhere!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

yep, re-arranging things in the greenhouse is obligatory for me everytime I go in there!
planted up one of my front borders. Hoping for a more coordinated look this year. Put in another bleeding heart - a huge one and it was only £4.
emptied of the cold frames. One more to go.
got around to feeding all of my acid loving plants and topped them up with eracacious (spelling, sorry!) compost.
one water butt empty already. Eeek - wouldn't say no to a spot of rain!
