I had a glow from getting too close to OH's bonfire to toss wood from the edges into the flames! Hope baby is btter today.
Other than potting up the rest of the lilies I split up yesterday and setting the loose scales in trays of compost I am doing no gardening today. I have shoulders after yesterday.
Serious wind chill factor out there today too so staying indoors and doing some unstrenuous patchwork homework.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Allspotz, hopefully the baby boy is doing better today. Yesterday I managed to plant some bulbs out, planted a rose and moved a laurel. Wanted to go back in today but it is freezing cold out there. That is a no-go...
i have been tidying up over wintered loose ends. I leave them in a heap well away from the house as the birds like a few choice strands for their impending nest building.
A lot of shredding has been done today, very good Bosch shredder, very pleased with it.
general manure spreading as well, still a bit too cold to cut down the penstamens, so their winter coats will have to remain for a couple of weeks
Cloudy but warm morning but sunny now....really very pleasant. No wind here either
Cut a hedge and other stuff for a friend this morning and now trimming large eunymous, pittosporum Irene Patterson and pruning here. Grow these and other evergreens as cones or mounds...
No wonder it's windy in the west, Alantic air can bounce right over to us now
can't wait for pics, I do love a good shape in the garden
Should have been a luxurious mid week day off today but was ruined by various non gardening goings-on
Did get out and move a virburnum tinus which has been on the move list for some while. Arranged the rest of the area by jabbing in sticks to represent plants I don't have and arranged the potted stuff on the ground.
Had a long awaited plant delivery but was too gloomy to admire them.
Seem to have acquired a mixed batch of tits and finches after following my own advice and moving a feeder a few metres...the highlight of the day

PS forgot to mention annual lop of penstemons
5 1/2 hours cutting grass to-day. Very chilly North Easterly wind. Had scarf and gloves on all day.

The forecast had been good, but it was grey and cold. I was in the garden for over 3 hours today, pruning, chopping and weeding.
