I once was on the bus going to work when a "little teapot" lady got on several stops after me. She sat in the front seat behind the driver which meant she could see her reflection in the glass behind him. As with the daily commute it's all the same faces on the same bus so she had nodded her good mornings to all before sitting down.

When she sat she checked her appearance in the glass...like you do...and there it was. A roller!!!!! Right in the front Hilda Ogden stylee. Poor mite!

She was like Paul Daniels taking it out. I hardly saw her hand move! image

  • GeumKeenButGreen that is a noble pergolaimage

  • Thanks for all the pergola love! I'm very happy with it image Just got to put some slim horzontals on the sides for climbers to use, and some slimmer roof bars so we can have a 'roof canopy ' when the climbers eventually get there.

Your OH should be proud of his pergolaimage.  Next project for him?

It will be lovely with the flowering climbers.

  • Thanks Joyce! Next project - a playhouse for the little one!

I'm looking forward to seeing it planted up, although I'm going to have to be patient and let those climbers grow a bit!

I spent the afternoon digging bindweed out of the strawberry bed. It came in under the paddock fence, bet I haven't got it all out. image

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Dilemma today....being treated to a meal later but need not to miss out on lunch so got early lunch in before an hour or so in the garden.  since it is free I need to make space for a very large helping image

rain threatens every now and then but it is dry, very warm and mostly sunny. ,

planted lupins, dahlias, kniphofia, cosmos xanthos a couple of salvias and mulched to complete another border.  It should rain so planting will be well watered in image

Geum keenbutgreen is popping down to build me a pergola like theirs and all for free image so I am very excited image
