Nearly finished upper middle bed after guests left. Planted 15 pansies in it. Just a bit of edging to do and a big dock to dig out.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Glorious sunny day, but a wee bit chilly with  a northerly wind.

Decided to cut the grass. 5 hours on a ride on did not agree with " the knee" image

The wind was a bit chilly but kept warm by planting two rows of 2nd earlies.  Dug up five lots of spanish bluebells which were just about to come into flower and replaced them with chionodoxa and tulips which I've grown mixed in 25cm pots just for this purpose and are both now starting to bloom. Don't you love it when a plan comes together?! image

First shoots also appeared on my lifted dahlias - thought that was never going to happen!

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Planted out some of my Dorset delivery today, Beau's Mum, thanks for askingimage A few old favourites primula and kniphofia, some things that are growing on me, a grass, geranium, I think phaeum types and a hosta and a couple I'm experimenting with, crysanth and comfrey.

Tried to plan the behind-the-bog border as I've sort of lost track of what I was doing...got spare plants but it seems lazy to just bung the leftovers inimage

Managed to get a couple of small trellis up before my coffee went cold, they are surprisingly straight and I moved my new finch feeding pole around...reckon I might need a second oneimage

    Put my spuds in.

    Planted up lots of seedlings.

Completely cream crackered and very very happy.

Yesterday I planted some broad beans, carrot, parsnip and 1 (image) cabbage grown in modules. Also sowed some flat leaved parsley and lettuce leaves in containers.

Today I washed 25 pots ready for potting up pelargonium cuttings. Forked, fed and spread some old compost on my "pastels" border. Also direct sowed some seeds of cornflower, honesty and nigella.

Did a bit of grass edging too.

Pricked out quite a few seedling this morning - mina lobata - lavatara - veronicas - Nicotinia sylvestris -  rudbeckia annual and others. Potted on tomatoes - two chrysanthemums - busy lizzies. This weeks forecast frosts / snow are not helping, windowsill and every available space in the house is more a less taken.
